I’m quite partial to Dr Dre. Mainly thanks to an ex who used to play The Chronic and 2001 all the bloody time.
I also have a soft spot for Snoop Dog as I like his rap tone and Ludicrous for the same reason. I also enjoy a bit of Jay-Z. Hard Knock Life is one of my favourite songs.

i've been doing some work for loughborough arts college aka Radar. Cassie Kinoshi , shabaka hutchins and a very exciting input from Xana (not the canadian pop singer).....
Here's some of the mercury award stuff they produced ...

Not really a fan of much of the British stuff today if I'm honest.
I grew up in the 80's addicted to rap, hip hop and electro.
Over the years my patience with some of the shit out there has left me not really interested.
Maybe it's an age thing but I just don't get the British stuff.
I am however a fan of ok yes I admit big popular American artists.
Kendrick Lamar, busta,( yes I know she's a complete asshole ) I do like Azealia Banks.
Q Tip, abdominal
To name a few.
Nothing really relevant and update I'm afraid. |

Some faves of mine are:
Rhyme Asylum - (state of lunacy album is a fave and underrated)
Phi life cypher
Rodney P
Jehst
Taskforce
Chester P
Skinnyman
klashnekoff
Akala as mentioned above
some of the guys in the HF lot are dope (the four owls, jam baxter, dirty dike) Grimey stuff from Flowdan & Jamakabi is cool.
I like a lot of diff styles but do prefer the older styles though, early 2000s UK hip hop vibes.

"I'll be honest and say that rap bar Vanilla Ice is not my fortè
Have you any recommendations that would open my mind to it"
God if you listen to Vanilla Ice then no . Maybe try Lil Nas X. He’s a bit poppy and he raps. I like him a lot. |

Little Simz
Jorja Smith
They're all on repeat right now
Also loving French, Korean and Eastern European rap too! "
Love Jorja’s voice it’s gorgeous. Her song Blue lights is one of my faves ever. And her bit on the Peng Black Girls remix.
And Little Simz. God she’s beautiful I love her. Rolling stone. Woman. She can do it all. I love her.
I knew you were good vibes. |

"Akala. All his fire in the booths. Particularly part 4. "
I used to live his FITBs.
If you like his I would recommend Bashy’s. That’s my fave ever and is as real as some of Akala’s in its own way. Real honest rap. |

This is absolutely exquisite taste. I love Kano and Dave. Stormzy gets on some of my playlists. D-Block Europe are a guilty pleasure for sure. Adz’s lyrics |

"I quite like Logic. I don’t listen to much modern hip hop but have heard a few of his tracks and love the boom bap style and he’s really good lyrically."
He’s good yeah. I like the jokes about him on twitter more than I like him. But he’s a very good shout. |

Casisdead from the UK - some of his stuff is a bit funky, but he’s really good. Fredo is good, and Tion Wayne as well. Joyner Lucas is the most recent rapper I discovered in the US. I like J.Cole and Schoolboy Q. And lots of people hate him, but there’s always Kanye |

Cole is a beast. And even if someone didn’t like his music, he did slap P.Diddy that one time, so there’s always that |
