Married ladies - did you change your surname?

For those who are or have been married, did you change or keep your surname? Maybe double barrel it? Did you feel pressure to do so or get any comments about your choice?
I was thinking that I did the old fashioned thing and took my husband's surname. But then I realised that all 3 of my mum's sisters kept their maiden name. So if I'm old fashioned were they modern thinkers 30 years before me?
My main reason was I wanted to share a surname with my husband and children. I would never have double barrelled it, but it would have sounded utterly ridiculous if I had.
Just curious about other people's experiences really |

Yes I changed it, did it before we got married. It wasn't anything to do with my hubby, I just wanted rid of my dads name.. last thing of his I needed to get rid of. |

I changed mine, I couldn't wait to be rid of my maiden name as it was one reason I got the piss taken out of me all my life.
Then I divorced and chose to take it back, which made my dad very happy.
If I got married again, I'd take my husband's name. I like that tradition personally.

I did
Now I’m getting divorced I’m thinking if changing it back . Everyone says won’t it be weird having a different name than your daughter but I can’t think of a single situation in which it would bother me or be an issue |

I did & hated it. When we split I went back to my maiden name but kept the Mrs. Re-married & have taken T’s surname as I like it. I’ve got paperwork in all 3 names though which I need to sort

"Nope, my husband took my last name "
I always wonder what sort of remarks men who do this get. I quite like the idea of it. It wasn't something we considered as my husband is his dad's only child and my maiden name is common as muck |

I haven't been married but when I got engaged, my fiance was going to take my name as I had changed it to something significant to me.
My mother is married to a woman and they share the same forename so have both kept their own surname to avoid confusion lol.

I changed my name when I got married. I did think about changing it back when I got divorced but I just can't be bothered with the hassle. Plus it probably annoys his girlfriend that I am still Mrs.... and she isn't haha. |

I'm changing my surname when I get married to my husband's name.
I hadn't really thought I would keep my own name after marriage as it just somehow seems right that we have the same name and his is better than mine. |

"Yes , I did.
I'm getting divorced but wouldn't change it back to my maiden name. "
I like this. I know someone who says the same It’s her name now , not his and nothing to do with children. The reason she changed her name a long time ago was because she wanted to , her choice no one else’s and it’s her choice now to keep her own name. |

I changed mine from my previous husbands name to the current one I haven’t got a middle name so use my birth surname. This was just a bloody disaster as can’t change passport or driving license as gone from one married name to another!
Man version, wish I’d ditched the maiden name |
