even why at all would you want a "celeb"?
what makes them " celeb"?

Because that way we can all join in and have half a chance of knowing who the person suggested is.
If the question were 'who would you like to join FAB?' and the answer was 'my vet' or 'the blonde woman who works in the corner shop', it wouldn't mean anything to anyone else.

I'm not sure anyone wants to worship them. The people suggested so far are mainly highly perveable or would given the forum up one way or another.
