Moore was just flannel, a throwback to a gentler, more sophisticated England. I liked the way Pierce moved, He strafed and jinked (as you do). None of the others did that, they ambled. |

Speaking of 007, and to hijack the thread momentarily, Viagra have brought out a new pill called the 007. It doesn't keep you hard for longer but it makes you Roger Moore....bum bum

Moore: Ladies & granddad's
Lazenby: Tea and biscuits
Dalton: Fifth Gear
Brosnan: GQ
Craig: Hard as a coffin nail |

"I love connery too, but no one did cheese like moore, had me smiling in every one "
Completely agree with this, every bond as brought something different to the character, Moore made it more accessible to a family audience as he was famous before hand and brought a comic slant to the films, I mean the man can convey any feelings with one eyebrow |

the comedy really started with Diamonds Are Forever, don't mind a bit of it but some films had far too much |

Double edged sword for me. I love Bond, but truly hate Craig as an actor. The pre_iews look good, and I am going this weekend, but will watch Craig through gritted teeth.
Terrible actor and worst Bond ever, even worse for me is that he has signed for another 2 films.... maybe he will learn to smile by then, but it won't be long enough to learn charm.

I could not stand Dalton either, too 'theatre lovey' for the role, but he did look like a Bond. |

Sadly, Dalton was hampered by poor scripting. The Living Daylights, supposedly a vehicle for Rodger Moore contained far too much humour for Daltons portrayal of Bond; which was far closer to the book persona of Bond than previous actor in the role.
Craig plays Bond quite close to the written 'Bond' as well whilst giving the character a far more human edge, particularly in Casino Royale, where for the first time you really do get a sense that Bond can be hurt, which puts a hither-to sense of danger into the action.
Sadly, Quantum of Solace is a big pile of shit; particularly the notion of a Hydrogen-filled hotel in the middle of the desert. May as well have returned to hollow volcano's kitted out with goons and monorails.
Hopefully Skyfall will be a return to form, though I have some reservations over Javier Bardem as the bad guy. |

My youngest is beside himself waiting to go see it.
He's been a fan of James Bond movies since he was a tot.
I remember James Bond being one of the first cinema trips my parents took the whole family to see, and the excitement in those days was doubly intense, just because we were going to the cinema. |

Well.... No. The first incarnation of Casino Royale was a TV adaptation by CBS in the good ole USofA, with Barry Nelson as James Bond and this was made in 1954, pre-dating Dr No (the first 'official' Bond movie) by some 7 years (Dr No was released in 1961!) |

Erm, I am sure that the Barry Nelson Bond was a member of the American 'Combined Intelligence Agency' in that role... I may be wrong, but am sure I am not! Lol! |

Yes I believe he was. To be honest, having recently watched it (the Barry Nelson Casino Royale) its difficult enough to sit through, let alone pay attention to!
Mind you, its nothing compared to trying to sit through the 1967 version of Casino Royale with David Niven. Holy crap on a cracker, that's a bad film! |

There are some guff ones, sadly. Then there is Moonraker!
I have to agree vis-a-vis 'Quantum of Solace' - that was dire - not Moonraker dire - but up there with Die Another Day kind of dire. |
