It seems to have become knife edge & full of tension in the past 6 months, guys please chill and respect opinions, theres no need for nastiness, bitterness, argumentation & jumping down peoples throats.

Im outta here for a while.

those who want to keep intouch my inbox is always open.

Have a nice day

Don't think you are the only one to have come to that conclusion OP. One of the reason I'm not posting as much these days is because of the playground mentality.

Hope you have fun away from the site x

" I have noticed it as well, hence I backed off considerably from it. "

Hmm, we noticed it too but deleted our last account due to a few snappy remarks.

The thing is, it flows and ebbs. From time to time it isn't great and it becomes quite aggressive. I've posted light hearted comments which normally would be taken as fun but been hit with nasty come backs.

My experience I think is due to some gossip going on about my former time on here but unfortunately, that's just one side of a very long story. If only people would actually talk to me and get both. Things aren't always what they seem and it's a shame as it restricts my time in the forums.

I know I'd love to come back and have the banter I used to but right now, it's not the time for me personally.

I think humour is lost in text. People take it the wrong way and then it blows up. People get too wound up by the words of random strangers on the internet and unfortunately that will never change.

Opinions are great and we all learn from others too but need to be expressed in a nice manner. Humour and banter is good too. We all need it in this stressful world we leave in. Those who choose to be disruptive, rude and abusive are simply ignored and/or blocked. I am not here to antagonise anyone or to stress about the behaviour of others .

I think it's been a stressful time for everyone with what's going on in the world, the cost of living etc. It's caused a lot of uncertainty that people can't control so perhaps they are less tolerant to differing opinions than they usually would be to deflect from what they can't control

Everyone is responsible for what they choose to read on the forums. There are plenty of fun posts and of course some more serious ones but that's what makes this place brilliant.

In all honesty I think the forums are a lot better than they were say 2 years ago and I am seeing lots of comments on this thread and others that we've had recently Like it saying Things along the lines of it's not like used to be because lots of the old posters don't post any more, personally I think that Suggests people are being nostalgic and and not open to new content and new posters.

My nan’s spare room.

I think the key to fabfillment is to not worry about what others think of you but be mindful of how you react with others.

What’s funny to one person isn’t necessarily funny to another. And that’s not them being touchy, soft or woke, it’s them being themselves.

If you think that somebody is being a dick and yes I feel ( that’s my view not necessarily the truth) that some people are being dicks, then it’s easy to turn the other cheek and ignore them.

Take it easy people and as they say.

When the fun stops, stop, but don’t expect everybody else to stop because they may be having fun.

But those people are expressing their own opinion. Sure lots of people could handle how they do it differently but it seems most people just want to share their own opinions without having anyone else express a different one.

It is just hypocritical bullshit.

Want to express your opinion? Be prepared to be challenged by another. It's as simple as that.

I don't notice hostility. I think this is because I select which threads to post to. Most threads I ignore.

To be fair I found the lounge improved a great deal when certain toxic personalities were permanently removed.

I find them to be a bit dull at present but if I want to be excited I'll start it.

Do the 'i don't like the tension people' ever consider they NEED that break cos it's them not the others ? Just a thought but one i do hold. People don't seem to question themselves - they just point fingers.

"I think the key to fabfillment is to not worry about what others think of you but be mindful of how you react with others.

Oh I get that, I just think that there’s often too much worrying about what others say despite that I think we should be conscious of how we may affect other people.

But obviously you’re correct there, I just think telling us all why you don’t use the forum is indicative that people somehow feel that the forum is not as much fun as it was and they’d prefer it as it was.

Which is the truth as they see it.

To be honest I’d agree it’s not as much fun as it was for me, but I’m still happy with what I get from it as I look for what I want and ignore what I don’t.

I’ve actually found the forums have calmed down over the last 6-12 months. There used to be 175 post long threads, multiple times a day, all screaming at eachother about trans this, trans thar, not all men this, read my bio that.

Seems much calmer now, but much more cliques and in jokes etc. basically entire threads getting derailed by unintelligible chat about cake and twix, thinly veiled attempted at sexual innuendoes and flirting. I can imagine most new users to the forum leave after not long because they can’t be bothered trying to decipher and join in

Once Yasmeen left it all went down hill. She was the weird barometer.

Go check out the Scottish forum, you'll see how bad it is on there. Apparently opinions aren't allowed anymore without someone ready to jump and verbally attack

I've really only been using the forum properly for the last few months so obviously can't compare to what went before.

But as others have said, feels like a bit of a mixed bag to me: some aggro for sure (I avoid the politics and virus areas like the plague, if you'll pardon the pun), but also lots of light-hearted, humourous and friendly interaction too. Can normally see pretty early where a thread is going, so can steer clear of more emotive topics quite easily, if you want to.

Fwiw, I've really enjoyed getting to know a few people on here and Fab would be much worse if they didn't exist at all. "Be the change..." as the old adage goes...

Because of what though? I would say probably only about 20% of threads have any agro in them them if that.

I think it was hit on the head earlier, that it has more to do with our own state of mind rather than what's going on in the forums.

It's not about challenging about how they feel, as nobody can tell someone else how they feel, however if the opinion is of a derogatory or discriminatory nature then I believe it should be challanged.

This. It seems to be you are negative or somehow causing a problem if you choose to question something that someone has said or you disagree. I feel like you can't win on here because if you agree too much with other people you are seen as just going with the clique and if you disagree or question you are being nasty or disruptive.

That's what I'm saying though. Some people are just like that, online and offline. They are giving their opinion in their own way. It's not a method I agree with or support but surely if we want to be able to present our own opinions one way then we should be prepared that others should be allowed to in their way. And they should be prepared to be challenged themselves.

Most of the time it seems like people don't want to discuss opinions, they just want an echo chamber filled with Yes men/people agreeing with their own opinion.

Honestly I think it’s mental, there’s 30 odd thousand people on here why get your knickers in a twist when someone doesn’t agree with you? There is absolutely no need to be nasty to people, to kink shame those kinks you perhaps haven’t tried or understand, to ridicule those who show parts of there body you wouldn’t and there is no amount of time in my day to be arsed with the drama - this as I’ve said before can be very high school like, there’s always people who tailor themselves to ‘fit in’ and then there’s those who go against the grain to stand out - this happens in everyday life not just on here.

I’m 37 not 17 - just appreciate this is an open forum and people will say as they see fit whether that resonates with you or riles you is down to you - if there’s a forum I can see taking a nose dive I just avoid it, no one asks you to get involved

I do think there's a point about how people put across their disagreement though. In the past I have regularly disagreed with certain posters. Nora and Chillout for example. We often have vastly different opinions on many things. I've often enjoyed the debate though and think of them both fondly. There's other people who respond with an attack on my character, morals or intelligence. They disagree with me therefore there's something wrong with me as a person. I'm not opposed to laughing at myself and sometimes I do say some dumb shit and if that's pointed out in humour, I can take that but some people go much further than that. Obviously the best response is to ignore them and I do my best to but there are times it can be relentless and it can get you down. I do personally see it as part and parcel of being on an internet forum and to an extent it will always be like that. My response when it gets too much is to just stick to benign or daft comments and not offer my opinion on anything for a while. However, I can understand why it might bother people having to limit their participation so much.

Having differing opinions is fine . It's when the pack mentality sets in and twenty people all start gangbanging on one person . Usually the op . That's the shit part .. but life would be fucking boring if we all agreed and had no alternative opinions . Iv felt victimised in the past but in fairness I get as many positive replies as I do negative ones . It just seems the positive responses come via private mail ..as some don't want to publically agree because they've seen how my sentiments get targetted on the forums and they're not prepared to be associated for fear of being ganged up on themselves .

Sometimes someone will deliberately say things, follow your every post with derailing comments.

There’s a lot of stuff going on, for everyone, that means they’re feeling the pinch.

Brexit and its effects will be rumbling on for the rest of our lives. Covid likewise.

The sharply rising cost of living, and resultant tightening of belts is, I’m sure, being felt by us all. Like most people, my gas/electric has near doubled.

All of these things have made me, for certain, more on edge.

They’ve also made me more wary of forum interaction. I’m on several “normal” ones, and I see dramas developing often lately. Most usually exacerbated because of a poor grip of written English, or a firm grip of conformation bias.

In my own household, I have one member of the family that will loudly proclaim that “you shouldn’t do things you can’t afford”, and who has been single-handedly responsible for the doubling of our electric bill this year, but now refuses to take ownership of the results. When you can’t resolve a situation like that face to face, I recognise that a forum spat is definitely not going to be resolvable.

If any of my responses have rubbed people the wrong way, I’ll wholeheartedly apologise, but most of us have no idea the pressures others are under even though we probably share more confidences here than we do anywhere else.

We should all just sleep with each other and get past it before someone gets slapped in the face over a joke...

Hmmmmmm i must be selective in what i read as i thought they had improved somewhat recently, although they are very slow at the moment

I think we each have responsibility when weighing our contribution for a thread and more importantly, our reaction.. You can't control anyone else, but you can make your own choices and determine your reaction

... Of course there are some whose whole purpose is to light the blue touch paper and walk away.. They are not for me, so i just avoid their threads /comments ... Why would i want to get involved in an argument with some random 'stanger' on the internet who I'll likely never meet??

Also there are some who seem to go out of their way to deliberately take offence.. For those i would recommend taking a breath and turn the comment around to depersonalise it.. I'm pretty sure nobody is points scoring.. The forum is just a fliping "chat crap" place until you get laid at the end of the day

FABWatch HQ

Op A forum is a poor mass communication channel. After the Op, each post changes the context of the next response, whether it supports or denies it, and irrespective of whether the next poster has actually seen it. We all then (generally) respond based on what we brought to the communication, which creates an ever widening view point(s), with later arrivals seeing and magnifying the gap. That is fora not fab.

To avoid personalising we tend to look at each thread on its own merits (not just who says what) - we all say dumb things one day and wisdom the next - and if we want fun we respond to fun threads.

2 years of pandemic and then once “freedom and spring arrives” people are too skint ti go out and have sole fun! Ergo the volumetrics of ends being gotten away are way down on what’s required to keep things on the happy side of the balance. Add to that Putin threatening the world so many nay never get a verification on fab and you’re adding fuel to the fire.

Either that or this is just the same as everywhere else on the internet.

"Avoid topics on race, Ukraine, trans, lower age limit, short people, cock size, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, big black cock, young men blues, I can’t get laid, not eating meat, anything by husbands in panties, curvy women, dieting…."

Thank fk we still have Brexit, Covid and fuel prices to talk about otherwise we’d be stuck with endless “hot photos”, “do you get turned on” and “profile advice” threads!

Ive noticed that more than a few women's profile are quite rude in the sense that they seem to think that they can be as direct and rude as they please in their stuck-up like and very arrogant demeanor as to what they want. Whenever I see profiles like this, I tend to have a wee look at their pictures, and im absolutely blown away at their level of confidence and arrogance, when they have nothing sexy or attractive going for them! I would ever be nasty, ut some folk on here really do need to be put in their places.

What im getting at is, dont be an arrogant bugger with list after list about what you dont find attractive or want. Sure state what you want, but dont be an arrogant arse about it - especially when youre not all that yourself.

Its a really shitty thing to do... On a thread that's calling out shitty behaviour too.. I'm almost knocked out by the irony

People can put what they like on their profile, so long as it isn't illegal...i don't care if they claim to be the Queen of Sheba... If they are not for you, just block and move on. You don't need to be an asshole about it at all
