Is it just me?
Hands up everyone else who suffers...
It seems like someones gone and turned on a lightbulb in the back of my head, and now my brain is just running away with itself and can't switch off (grrr)
All of those little inconsequential things just seem to be popping up, and going off in a tangent...
Anyone have any good tips or do you just suffer with it?

Yes me too, I just come on fab and read the forums until I get tired again. I am awake in the early hours most nights for about an hour and then I get sleepy and can fall back to sleep again |

"Thinking of trying some of these herbal supplements ....
Can get to sleep no problem, just have this patches where I'm awake for several hours ...."
sorry but that is not insomnia, it is disturbed sleep. |

Disturbed sleep is where you Can sleep but wake up..
Insomnia is a lack of melatonin, you cannot distinguish between day and night, your body clock is fucked and you can be awake for days.... |

Wiki describes sleep onset insomnia, and middle of the night insomnia (motn), which is what I might have
Though not into self diagnosis ... |

No disrespect Smike but when you are on day 5 of no sleep at all, and it affects your eating patterns and general health, then anything less is not clinical insomnia or sleep deprivation. X |

Since I had children (nearly 20 years ago!)I rarely stay asleep longer than about 20 minutes, sometimes then being awake for just a short time, but often for an hour or two... possibly not technically insomnia, but can be very difficult to live with...
Have tried a variety of herbal sleeping tablets and occasional real sleeping tablets from the docs but they don't seem to help me sleep ... I'm still awake as much but just feel unpleasantly spaced out...a feeling which often continues into the next day...
Also tried a hypnosis CD which didn't make any difference either ...
Interested to hear other people's experiences/advice |
