After a mildly in depth conversation about these I have since been wondering how you would feel if you were randomly approached about your ink.
Would you be creeped out or friendly if someone came up to you in a pub, club or hell the supermarket and complimented your tattoos?

I’ve had both compliments and negative things said to me about mine, compliments are always lovely. The negative was some random pissed up bloke in a pub who kept banging on how stupid I will look when I’m 60! |

It happens quite often on nights out. I enjoy it because I like tattoos and want more so it always leads to a discussion about future tattoos and bouncing ideas off each other. |

Its lovely when people randomly comment on them. Nice things obviously.
I have found in clubs recently they are great ways to break the ice and I enjoy it when people read the one across my back using their fingers.
I like getting people to find them. It's a fun way of letting people know if I'm happy being touched by them. |

I’ve been approached by a fabber in a supermarket who recognised me by my tattoos. It was a bit embarrassing. I noticed he was a smoker and after I checked his profile later he claimed he wasn’t so it didn’t go further. |

Our response has generally been positive! Although Steph did get cornered in a club by an older guy who insisted on examining each one and wouldn't let her leave until she justified each one. He disappeared when I came out of the toilets and asked what was going on |

I’ve blurred mines out on the solitary photo (profile picture) that I have as mines are really quite distinctive. I think if a random came up and started talking to me about them alarm bells would start ringing. |

It really depends how they do it... If they get really close and just stare or try and take hold of my arm to read them, that's a bit creepy
But if they pay a compliment and then ask a question it's ok.

My ink tells my life story. Each piece has a reason for it.
Bit like reading a book on my body !
I often get asked about my neck one and they always ask “ did it hurt ?”
Only ever had a negative remark from a pensioner saying I’ll regret them in later life ! Erm, no I won’t, that’s why I had them done , so they remind me . None were done on a whim or to be a trend . Some people may like ink , some may not but I like all mine .

I've had a mixture of comments and I have varied replies to offer back. If someone wants to randomly chat to me then I take it as a compliment but if they just want to be rude or take the p*ss then I just tell them that it's a good job they aren't wearing them then Obviously, that's the polite version |

I've had a woman on a train station platform lift the hem of my skirt to look at mine better, and some daft bint at a swinging social start stroking my legs because she thought my tights were patterned.
Both ignorant consent violations and make me very wary of having ink on show. |

We are both perfectly happy receiving compliments about our ink, unless it's done to clearly get in the missus' pants. Then it depends on who's giving the compliments. |
