Some very sad news: Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has sadly died aged 50.
Friends are telling me he was found in his Colombian hotel room where the band were due to perform later.
Tragic news as he was a top bloke and it was an absolute pleasure to work with him a few times over the years. |

Sounding like a massive heart attack, hopefully not drug related.
Poor Dave and Poor Pat having to go through losing a bandmate again. Dave and Taylor were super close so bound to be a hard one to take. |

Not a fan of Foo Fighters at all but he always came across as a top guy and really talented so a big shame.
It's same with Dave Grohl, really likeable guy and undoubtedly talented, but their music just comes across as sanitised radio friendly rock by numbers to me. |

I'm shocked! such a talented man and a huge blow to the Foo Fighters I love their music, their songs were the anthems of my kids childhoods
50 is just no age |

Was absolutely gutted when I heard about it earlier. Such a tragic loss. A great bloke and an amazing talent. No age at all is 50. Dave will be in absolute pieces as they was so close. Still in complete shock myself. Devastated |

"Such sad news. I imagine this will be the end of the band as well
RIP Taylor Hawkins"
Why will it be the end of the band? AC/DC went on after the loss of Bon Scott. |

I mean that remains to be seen - but - my gut feeling is they will carry on.
Although Taylor was their drummer since 1997 he wasn't their first. Plus the Foo's is purely Dave Grohl's 'baby' so the decision will ultimately rest finally with him. But I would be surprised if they didn't carry on. |

I'm not a massive fan by any means but they've headlined a couple of festivals I've been to.
They are a live band, they exist to bring thousands of people together & blow their minds with incredible shows. So as deeply as this will affect them, it won't end them. As much as anything, continuing will be tribute to Taylor. |

Yeah, I’m not a fan, but liked him and DG is obviously a great guy. Very sad. |

Very sad. Especially having a young family. Always enjoyed them live than on record. A very talented musician. Just goes to show you must get as much enjoyment out of life as possible as you never know when. |

It's absolutely tragic .. absolutely to lose such a talented drummer ..forget he was a drummer for a second..he was a beautiful human being ..at 50 wayyyyy too young to be taken ..as regards the band continuing ? Let them think about that when it's time to do so .As regards AC/DC continuing , the Young's were still only in their 20's when Bon Scott sadly passed , The Rolling Stones lost their drummer ,the late great Charlie Watts at 80 but still continued , the sad part of all of this, maybe, is bands continue simply because the person who has passed would want the band to continue and bring happiness and fun into so many people's lives, we never know when our time will come ..never..so whatever it is you want to do ..do it..don't put it off .Rest in Peace Taylor and thank you so much for everything . |

I think the finest musical compliment you can pay the man is how good a drummer must you have been to be a drummer in Dave grohl’s band….
And I just watched the carpool karaoke they did with James corden the other day and they were all such a bundle of joy |

Just personal opinion, I can see this affecting Dave much worse than Kurt's death and he might just call it a day and decide to enjoy his life away from rock n roll. |

I agree. 25 years is a long time to be so close and he lost it after Kurt.. sad times. |

There seems so much death around grunge. I loved the scene but when you think that out of that big four only one singer is left. Those before and after that were by association were connected. Why? I can't think of a music fashion that has so much tragedy around it. I don't think Grohl and Pat Smear will give up just yet. Maybe a slow descent, just recording, to retire. They've never struck me as Jagger/Richards selfish bastard types. |

When Rufus Taylor played drums, that had to be hard, he looks so much like Taylor!!!
We had tickets , but couldn’t go. Mind you, watching it on TV, I seen way more than I would if I had been there! |
