I've heard of them as a way of raising charity and helping people mix.
The people auctioned off aren't there for sex, just a dinner date. What they do after is up to them.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd happily eat dinner with anyone if it raised money for a charity I care about. |

Yeah, I thought the hypothetical auction was for a date ... and there are plenty of charities that would associate themselves with that. I have done it before, so wouldn't be an issue.
There are also charities that have associated themselves with calendars of nude athletes or firefighters...I'm sure that's "unethical" as well for some people |
