i think it was a huge deal for those people in the carribean at the time and it was one of the things my mum talked about from when she was young....
people down there didn't have a clue who was going to flinch first...

It had a huge long term effect. 50 years of funding big armies and paying for our own nucular threat. Just imagine if all that money had gone into social welfare how much better things could have been. |

I was 7 at the time and i remember it as clear as day i really thought we were all going to die in our homes ..i went to a village school and i remember the air raid sirens being resurrected and sounded just in case .for a few days there was a real air of doom in the world ...and as records show we came a whole lot closer than people ever realised !!!!...Iguess there arent many fabsters who have a personal memory of that time ????? |
