I have just done my first cut of the year on my grass it has been 6-7 months since the last cut.My garden is 20 feet x 8 feet of grass so not a big green area but it took me just over a hour and a half including the clean up of the floor and lawn mower.Just curious if anybody else has done these or are they waiting for some time of work or weekend like me. |

Hello everybody, please please when you cut your grass do take into consideration field mice that could be sheltering in there, maybe have a little slow walk around first so they will scuttle away if there are any, thank you for listening and god bless you all |

It's part n parcel of having a lawn no matter the size , it's like everything once you keep on top of it it's easier to control but there's no getting away from the fact that it has to be done . |

It did eventually wander back out. Whether that was to lawn shame me or not is as yet undetermined. If it was, it worked. |

Did my first cut last week, can now see, courtesy of 4 labradors, that it looks like Aintree after the National!!
Had one adventurous squirrel (dogs are not fans of the tree rats), caught him upside down nibbling my nuts. Headache incoming.....a very terminal headache!!
Spring has obviously sprung, certainly if the woodies are anything to go by! |

Yeah if you wind it the wrong way it won’t come out properly take it all off and wind it the other way |

Iv literally just been out to do mine. Made a fucking mess of it as the neighbours 22yr old daughter was out in their garden in a pair of shorts that showed of almost all her ass cheeks. Now my lawn looks like its been cut by a blind man. O well. |

I did my first cut 2 weeks ago, then scarified the front lawn, filled both bins, so had to wait until Thursday before doing the second cut and scarifying the back. I must say my lawn is the best it’s looked for a long while. Must go now looks like I have got a new meet!

Don't feel bad if you haven't done it yet - saw a thing the other day that said pollinators that live in grass are only just emerging from hibernation so it's worth holding off until temperatures are steadily above 10°c before taking the insulation of longer grass/fallen leaves etc away. |

Why are the British obsessed with scalping and poisoning their lawns to create depressing sterile bowling greens or golf courses to impress their neighbours? Then they wonder in the summer why their lawns turn brown and waste valuable water during droughts with sprinklers? This summer listen to the grass growing, do something sexy instead and resist the desire to dry out your lawn. I seldom mow my lawn and low and behold it remains green. Who doesn't love daisies and buttercups? Here ends the rant. |
