"Knossos
The Acropolis
Hadrian's Library"
I loved knossos when I visited as it really made you think how advanced and organised they where thousands od years ago. Lots of the stuff though have been moved to the museum to protect. I found the museum particularly awesome. I spent a whole day there and one of my favourites ever. |

Yes, it’s not a new name for it. Whatever you want to call it, it’s still underwhelming |

"Forbidden Corner
I've been to few forbidden places
But not the corner .
The corner is magical "
Yes its on my list I've seen it on TV
I've been to where the cottingly fairies were seen . that was too
Talking of magical. I was on hill side in the lake district and found the end of the rainbow and touched it. I've had magic fingers. Ever since |

I am always surprised when I hear people using the excuse that the parthenon marbles will not be looked after well if they go back to Greece when I think of that museum and how well everything is looked after and preserved. Aside from right and wrong, that's definitely not true. |

Yes. It's all temperature controlled, no photography and limited numbers. It is Greek history and they are not going to ruin it. |

Tyne Cot, know what you mean!
Did you go to the German cemetery at Langemarck (think that's the spelling)? Totally different layout etc, but equally moving.
Delville Wood on the Somme. Assaulted by something like 500 South Africans, only about 100 survived to be relieved. Only one tree was left still standing after the battle. The wood has re-grown, but no birds sing in the woods. Very heavy atmosphere and very evocative! |

I thought Ayers Rock was amazing. I climbed it many years ago. "
Gosh, we did too. Everyone was coming down with cuts & bruises. I don’t think you can climb it anymore |

"Panama Canal Atlantic side. Supposed to be even more impressive now they have built new gates..."
Im sure they are lovely gates
But I won't be going to see them
Due to the fact I don't travel abroad anymore. I gave up after 911 although I hate that phase and my passports run out . |
