But wouldn't that mean that everything that was ever referred to in that statement was better than sliced bread, therefor sliced bread is no longer the best thing invented?
The best thing since sliced bread is now the "best thing" and sliced bread isn't!

Sorry, my answer would be writing. I would have said speech, but that wasn't actually invented whereas writing was.
You couldn't have so many things if we didn't have writing to build them on.

Not necessarily better, just newer than sliced bread. Still i dont actually think it's sliced bread... the written word is probably the greatest in my opinion. |
