"From my mum when I was 21. A oil painting of my home city. She's been gone 21 years herself. It was expensive, and she couldn't really afford it x"
That's a very meaningful present. I've no doubt it has pride of place in your house? |

The best presents in my opinion, are ones that someone has thought about. Something that has meaning and has been chosen with care.
The best present I've e er received was a ticket to see a band I had given up hope of ever being able to see.
It was very unexpected and I cried

A gift for geeky kids. It was the best. It gave you a word and you typed in the spelling.
I’ve credited it for my love of good spelling and grammar |

My hen party. We were only engaged 3 1/2 months. It was always going to be a small wedding with minimum fuss. A few weeks before the wedding we went into town and my friends were waiting there. My husband had organised it all in secret and I spent the day with them treating me and practicing make up on me like a doll, as they'd decided to do my wedding make up. He did something similar a few years later by organising a spa weekend for my birthday. The same friends collected me and gave me a night off from being a mum. It was very much appreciated |

I got myself some turntables for my 20th birthday. Had some great times learning to dj back then and share my love of music with friends and like minded people.
Still love using my decks today, albeit upgraded since then!
I actually love buying gifts, the buzz you get when you buy something you know someone will love (regardless of cost) is fantastic. |

Best present l've received is a person's time , am not materialistic at all so l know when a person spends their time with me they truly mean it ."
Absolutely 100%
I’m not materialistic and I’d rather give than receive.
And I’d say I’m not bad at giving a nice surprise gift to someone, it’s all about learning and planning what to get or do for them for me.
That’s what I prefer anyway. |

Wasn't an ideal start to adulthood i must admit, but at that age i think i accepted it more easily. Often wonder how differently things would have been had that not happened .. |

I generally prefer experiences to remember over physical gifts.
Cal buys great gifts. The best are probably my Boudoir Photoshoot and a stay in a castle.
I enjoy buying presents for others, and love finding the "prefect gift", which is not as often as I would like. |

Quite a few people have said their children which is . And I find it particularly heart warming from men - I don't think my ex would ever say this.
On my eighth birthday, I received a wonderful present. My youngest sister was born. We love having a birthday on the same day. |

Oddly, it was one from a bunch of workmates in my first full time job.
I'd only been there a short time, and loved it, but it was a very close knit group and I still felt a bit of an outsider.
Then when my birthday arrived, they presented me with a box of presents (probably over £200s worth), and all were things I actually wanted or related to things I enjoy.
It wasn't the presents that meant so much, but the feeling of being noticed and accepted.
I stayed in that job for 15 years. |

The best gift I’ve ever received, was when I heard the fireman say “she’s breathing” after resuscitating my daughter on our front lawn. Nothing beats that, although finding out I was pregnant on her little sister, after years of trying is definitely on par with it xx
So I guess, I’d have to say, my girls xx |

Present wise, would be a key ring my lil one bought me when she was six, as it said “best mummy in the world”. She saw it in the local shop and bought it with her pocket money, as a surprise for me xx |

That's interesting that you differentiate between a present and a gift. How terrifying to have your child need resuscitating! I'm glad she is ok. |

you should get a guitar tuner , cost about £10 , and tune your guitar ( it may need new strings as well, you will pick them up for a few quid ) and pick one song to learn , it's very very easy to learn , believe me , once you have it , you have it for life , it's like riding a bike , the song I'd recommend for you is ' Knocking on Heaven's Door " ..no matter how long it takes you , you will have it for life |
