Evening everyone.
I've taken photography up as a hobby and I'm looking for scenic surroundings or landmarks to take pictures to practise.
The areas would need to be on a bus/train route from Hinckley, as don't drive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

"Shame you couldn't get to Rutland Water as it's beautiful at this time of yearUsed to live there a few years ago and you are right, it is so lovely especially around Oakham. "
A lovely part of England round there... Often used to visit Rutland, Stamford whilst staying at Burghley horse trials. |

Night photography of your local surroundings are a good choice.
The lights that illuminate the urban areas can get some really good effects.
Also the night sky could hold some good shots too.
If you use a slow exposure to let more light in then you will get some surprising shots.
Good luck. |

There are so many places around us, not sure if possible via bus, but Bradgate Park is best for photography just as the sun rises.
The church just off Clickers Way (left out of Earl Shilton & left - is on bus route) is also good and has a beautiful ruined wall inside.

The church is within walking distance for me, have few days off work soon, will pop up there, definately no buses to Bradgate though |

Depends what you like taking photos of...for buildings I would definitely recommend Stamford - lots of limestone and 17th century buildings plus more churches for it's size you can pray for....Rutland Water ( or Empingham Rezzi as we used to call it) is ok but for fields and woods etc try the local Weald out beyond Thrussington and the Vale of Belvoir where you might see Micky Dolenz from the Monkees fox hunting. |

No bus to Newtown Linford? Cor, they've missed an opportunity there buys its really close to Anstey and a taxi from there wouldn't be much. |

"I've no idea where st Margaret's bus station is, whenever I come to Leicester bus drops me off by John lewis (enderby park and ride bus)"
It's a very short walk from there. Do you have a navigation app on your phone? You can't type in the start and finish of your journey, select the public transport option and it tells you everything you need to know. |
