I’ve also seen ‘ethical fuckboy’. I think it means someone whose partner (if attached) knows they’re seeing others. And it’s not just a fuck and go scenario. So they’ll have coffee with you and take time to chat and get to know you. Basically, I think it’s more of a respectful thing. |

From Wikipedia
The authors define the term slut as "a person of any gender who has the courage to lead life according to the radical proposition that sex is nice and pleasure is good for you.
I would add to that that you do not hurt anyone in the process so no attached people without their partners knowledge and consent. |

The last time we heard this term we weren't sure what it is either so I bought Mrs a book, which she really enjoyed.
The book is "Thriving in Non Monogamy An Ethical Slut's Guide: Overcome Jealousy, Enjoy Sex, and Honor Yourself" |

"Who says a slut has no morals?!
Exactly! It's why terms like "ethical slut" come into being. "
Absolutely. A slut has been used as an insult for far too long to shame women who enjoy sex. |

"I much prefer the archaic terms "harlot" or "courtesan". But I'm still none-the-wiser. "
I have a link to the book Nero, if you'd like to read it. It's about being ethical about non-monogamy. Different ways of being non-monogamous (or poly) whilst being open and honest with any partners. |

I found it quite hard going and didn't finish it but it has some relevant points. |

Doesn't like BBC, likes cock
Will do a gangbang or bukakke if hotel costs are shared
Can slap their arse but only if you ask
Will kick you in the balls if sex expected
Cums first, maybe second, never last.

"Someone that works really hard to convince themselves that they're happy without monogamy?"
This is exactly what I thought when I met one for a friendly social (no play). |

"Who says a slut has no morals?!
By definition. A slut has loose sexual morals.
And ethical ... codes to live by, principles of conduct, rules which govern action and behaviour. "
So a principled unprincipled person?
Oxymoron |

Well then it’s a shame the definition doesn’t apply to both the sexes."
It does really, it's more culture that seems to let men do as they please. Another inequality for sure reason |

Bit like buying a car - you like nice cars, go car shopping, you don't have the money so don't buy. Apply the same to sex.

As long as she doesn’t recycle the condoms, we’re all good "
This morning's condoms are on my washing line blowing merrily in the breeze. |

Indeed; compare and contrast the derogatory use of the term 'slut' for women who enjoy sex and have sex with many men with the admiring use of 'stud' for men who have sex with many women; for women slut is a negative term of disapproval while for men 'stud' is used as a term implying they are virile 'real men'.
....
Well then it’s a shame the definition doesn’t apply to both the sexes."

"What exactly is one of these?
I've often seen the term on here. I'm not trying to illicit a contentious reaction; I'm genuinely interested. Let's just say it's my edification for this weekend. "
Is it a fella who shags all and sundry but without the double standards.
Commenting for a friend. |

Slut, as in having no morals
Surely that's an oxymoron"
Well to me. slut stands for.
Sexually liberated uninhibited
temptress.
Sounds pretty ethical. I think

This idea that a woman who enjoys sex and partakes of it has loose sexual morals really bothers me. It's an incredibly outdated way to describe women. So the word has been reclaimed. Not just by the authors of the Ethical Slut. You might have come across "Slut walks".
There was also a comment about people convincing themselves they're not monogamous - wouldn't that be the entire site? Nobody here is monogamous - if you're a swinger, you're having sex with other people. I'm not convincing myself or anyone else. Im just not monogamous. It doesn't work for me. And if I get called a slut - I will own it. |

Exactly this, isn't swinging or indeed being single with multiple sexual partners just another form of ENM?!

I don't work hard at it at all, I just enjoy it. It's it really that hard to conceive that a woman doesn't want monogamy? |

Well, I agree with you. Some people don't see sex with others as non-monogamy - found that out when I did a thread on that topic. |

"Someone that works really hard to convince themselves that they're happy without monogamy?"
What an odd thing to post on a swinging website.
Monogamy isn't for everyone, as evidenced by how many people cheat, for a start.

It was a facetious comment about the book which seems like a guide for those who want to be non monogamous, but struggle with aspects of it.
I guess I don't understand that...like, why train yourself to be what you struggle with |

Why would anyone do that? Do you think someone like me is training myself to sleep with more men? Or perhaps it's just that I realised after a lifetime of monogamy that it isn't for me? And saying this on a site which is specifically for people who like to have sex outside their relationship - you think they're forcing themselves? |

I have no clue about you.
And I'm not talking about people training themselves to sleep around more. I mean the mix of emotions, especially the ones that don't leave them feeling good |

I cannot understand why you'd think people would want to struggle. In my experience talking to many others about this - people encounter problems with monogamy, or something happens to make them rethink their sexuality. Then they read up or talk to others or just explore until they find the answers to their questions. Until it feels right. |

This seems a very inflammatory and judgemental comment to make.
