I’d watch the lunchtime edition of neighbours and feel superior knowing I’d seen it before all my friends.

But of course that was pre social media/mobile phones so I couldn’t tell any of them what happened, just felt exciting knowing I knew

I don't think telly was broadcasting in the day when I was a kid. There were a couple of lunch time programmes, Watch With Mother etc but that was all.

Let’s pretend with that weird tune and freaky conveyor belt going to the sharks mouth.

And that’s program with Wordy - that mad little orange git that flew about with the alphabet all over him.

Crap cos there was only 3 then later 4 channals. Mt twin brother had chicken pox at same time as me. He made me get up to change the channals. Remotes had not been invented then.

I wonder what measurements of cocks we're used before remotes?

I’m old, so ‘Crown Court’. That parpy, pompous theme tune was the signal that being off school had just become less fun.

Sons and Daughters - I can’t remember anything about it except the theme tune. A great daytime game was ‘spot the Aussie actor from Neighbours when they were a bit younger’. Worked for Prisoner Cell Block H too

"Nothing. We were only off school when very ill and needing bed. No television whatsoever "

Same. And even if I started to feel better tough shit, no viewing for the whole day. Silence in the bedroom and stay there.

"Not well enough to go to school, not well enough to leave the room"

Mothers way of preventing any sickies. Make being unwell as boring as humanly possible.
