"You normally double it, however does depend on the type of curtain, is it tab top, eyelet or normal?"
Well I bought some that were normal (pre made one's from b&m) made sure the drop was right but forgot about the width
Will prob go for normal if I can find them |

If taking about nets then double it if taking about curtain curtains measure width of window and use that measurement , curtains will have the extra in for gathering. |

B&M don't give you any extra- I learnt that the hard way I had to buy new ones as even with no gather, they barely touched. They were also supposed to be lined but the lining is so thin to be useless - I've always made my own in the past but with everything going on i9n my life at the moment and a lack of good cheap materiel shops up here, I decided to buy - you get what you pay for! |

"I do double the amount..
if the window is 66inches across.. id make sure each curtain was 66inches.. not 33
"
Ditto. That is the correct way of measuring them. |

"Depends on how thick the material is too. If it's very thick, 1.5x or if it's thin then you could do 3x the width. "
If I got up earlier I would have said the same |

Last time I bought some curtains I done goofed and ended up with them being twice the width they needed to be. Luckily the woman at Dunelm Mill took pity on me and replaced them without any problem... and they were then in the sale so I got a refund and bought them at a cheaper price than I'd paid a couple of days earlier! |
