Boiling water in a stove top kettle using gas is cheaper than an electric kettle.

And for added savings you can freeze it to use later.

Check everything you have a yearly contract for that you just auto renew. Move your broadband, move your energy, move your phone, take advantage of all the New Customer bullshit, don't sit there paying full price if you haven't upgraded your phone etc.

If you have credit card debt, get a balance transfer card and save on interest (and use the saving to pay it off, don't treat it as free money of you'll be in a worse position when your free rate runs out)

Have a good think about your subcriptions. Amazon Prime. Sky TV. Netflix. Gym. Spotify. Do you need them? Why not bin them and try free trials on other services?

Never buy a Costa, buy a decent travel mug/flask and take your own.

Make sure your tyres are inflated properly! An extra 4% efficiency might not seem like much, but if that's worth £3 a tank and you do 3 tanks a month, that's over £100 right there.

Turn your heating off, not down. You've loads of jumpers, wear one.

Shower at the gym not home.

Look up the app Too Good to Go and get some bargain supermarket food and restaurant takeouts.

Never take small change out with you, instead stick it in a piggy bank and take it to the bank when it fills up. Also never put keys in your trouser pockets. Both combined has saved me loads in new jeans as it always used to be the pockets which went on them.

Cooking is a big one. Invest in a chest freezer. Pre prepare bulk meals such as chilli, curry, mashed potato, then freeze as portions.

Turn down the heating. Do it gradually, I've got a sweat on right now and my house thermostat is set at 17 degrees.

Turn off anything on standby - it's easy,

If your hot water tap is running too hot and you need to mix cold water with it, then you're wasting money.

Hope that helps.

Look up the app Too Good to Go and get some bargain supermarket food and restaurant takeouts."

Learn to cook from scratch -saves money & is miles healthier with less fat, salt, sugar & additives and saves a lot on takeaways.

Part worn tyres - these are all the ones the garage tells folk they need new ones for mot etc when they dont, all are above legal limit too. 20-30 per tyre balance & means no virgin rubber from forests.

Buy furniture from charity shops - saves money & saves on raw materials elsewhere in globe + helps folk

Reduce milage on insurance, see if a specialist insurance is available i.e 4x4 or classic. Some car forums also give registered members up to 25% discount...plus lots of info about common issues and how to sort them yourself.

Fix car yourself saves £45 ph+ if you got the time. Most is bolt on so little skill needed Vs likes of welding.

Turn things off at plug socket if not in use...it still allows energy flow through it if you don't, called ghost energy.

Turn lights off when not in room. Pets can see in dark, just fine.

Use standard definition instead of high definition - saves energy.

Plant own food, can be in pots or a indoor tent, or in garden if you have one.

Travel tea cup - mine keeps warms for about 2 hrs & most places will rinse & refill so less waste too.

Meat is expensive & we are eating too much of it anyho, cutting it out couple of times a week, saves money & healthier too.

Don't buy stuff you don't need like latest fashions, trends (like colour schemes in house), gadgets you don't need like wireless everything actually cost more in long run cos now you got to charge 2 things not 1 (earphones & phone) and your battery drains faster too with Bluetooth on.

No point working more unless you are on a hourly rate rather than salary.

Check your cupboards for tins and use them up. I had 9 tins of beans in!

Have a freezer tea instead of going to shops.

Chop your own vegetables. Whole veg keep better in fridge and are fresher.

Buy wonky veg for soups.

If you can't afford the tube fare in London, simply follow closely behind somebody else as they pass thru the turnstile.

It is advisable to wear trainers just in case the police are watching.

"Shower at the gym

Doesnt gym membership cost more than running a shower?

My gym membership is £16 a month. "

A 10 minute shower under a 10kw electric shower is a tenner a month. If you can replace 1 in 3 showers you’ve saved £40 a year. It’s the little things, marginal savings that add up, looking after the pennies…

Camberley occasionally doncaster

Just had my car remapped for fuel economy. I was averaging 30mpg on my work commute (16 miles each way, then averaged out) yesterday it was 44mpg averaged. They reckon an average 10-15% increase in fuel economy. This alone will pay for itself in 3 months for me. On top of that correct tyre inflation and smooth driving help. You can also make savings by tucking in behind a lorry at 60mph on the motorway. The time difference is normally minimal but can save loads on fuel.

Also, remove any roof boxes/roof bars/bike racks if you aren't using them.

Change your name by deed poll to something like "Greta saves the planet", and register yourself as a charity.

Then sit back and watch as the donations roll in, especially on Greta red nose Day.
