The long awaited Online Safety Bill is being introduced in Parliament today and will be law once passed which it will be as the Gov has the majority.
Will this finally mean that Twitter has by law to remove all porn from their platform? Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and most social media sites have already done so.
How will it affect general sites that host adult content I wonder? |

About time! This coupled with the new cyber flashing law will hopefully make for a safer online environment for everyone.
Hopefully it will lead to greater control of the type of things that we are exposed to. |

Be careful what you wish for. While the Bill is well meaning and will offer much needed protection, it also leaves the door open for people opposed to our lifestyle to persuade government to impose draconian restrictions on sites like Fab. |

What about freedoms of those who have no desire to see the genitals of others yet have them forced into their private messages?
Nobody should be subjected to it, but surely you must consider the impact it has to children and those who've been victims of assault.
I think if you reassess your view on it, or if you have children of your own and they were subjected to it, you may actually consider it assault. |

I haven't sent any for years.
I do think that technology is advanced enough to tell if its unsolicited or not based on conversations had and every word typed being logged somewhere. |

I’ll be more than happy if it at least reduces the amount of ugly strangers dicks that I’m subjected to on a daily basis (not just here but on every platform, insta is terrible for it!). |

Laws like these tend to be the beginning of a slippery slope and I dread to think where they lead
Doesn’t mean I’m against people not wanting to receive dick pics. It just means that many things start off as harmless laws designed to protect people. That’s how they start. Where they end up is another question. People are quick to support the start without questioning the end |

And over estimating the ease of getting a conviction to stop it happening
Unless your account is paired with some form of photo ID or credit/debit card you’ll really struggle with any form of conviction.
As it currently stands the majority of websites don’t require any type of verification that can lead to a conviction
So these laws basically offer an increase level of control and power to the government while offering very little practical protection for users in terms of stopping the crimes via convictions or threat of convictions

When you enter sites that contain adult content, you have a warning to say it's adult content. By continuing to the site, you are giving consent. The point of the bill is that it's designed to make it easier to prosecute people who sends graphic images without consent.
I don't think it will have any impact on sites such as this so don't panic. |

Wouldn’t it be great if these things weren’t necessary and grown arse adults could fucking behave themselves and act in a decent manner? Imagine that. Imagine not having to be told by higher powers not to send images of your genitals to people who don’t want to see them. God help us. |

This too! I do fear that this is a slippery slope to everyone having to prove who they are just to access certain sites. Of course there's the whole "I've got nothing to hide" thing but then you'll have to police yourself on every single quote you make or message you send incase people take offence to it. |

In some cases I'd to make an account would be great.. sites like fab and Facebook Twitter would be safer for it ...and it would hold to account trolls and identify deviants and such ...but yeah it's more laws and more red tape and only the peasants will be held to account for it whilst the elite/ wealthy manipulate it and bypass it |

It’s by no means just here, although here is rife for it. It’s every platform and I’ve even been airdropped photos by strangers in public! WTF???
It is a huge issue and something does need to be done. |

I think the main purpose of the bill is to prevent children searching for images of Peppa Pig on twitter are presented with pornographic images of “farmyard fun” etc.
I do think that sites like this will have to set up age verification in order for adults to be able to use them.
Whether people will be wanting to submit their personal bank or passport details is another matter. |

I think where many male users of this site will come unstuck is in the 'who wants to wank over my wife' forum threads. If the pics are from consenting couples profiles then no issue but there are many single men on there offering out pictures of their wives, most of whom I'd guess have no idea. If the wife does then find out if imagine she'd have the law behind her if she wanted to prosecute. Not sure where Fab would stand in facilitating this. |
