Supposedly MMF is bi so the 2 men fuck each other and the woman. Hence the MM being together.
MFM allegedly is a straight 3some. The woman in the middle and the men fuck her but don't acknowledge each other's existence for fear of being called gay.

So they wouldn’t play with each other for example.
