Are you comfortable being called beautiful or is it a trigger word for you?
Do you think everyone is beautiful in their own way or is it a beauty standard very few achieve?
Do you find the people you love become beautiful in your eyes?
Thoughts? |

I'm happy to say it and very happy to receive it but from people I know.
When the random blokes that look at my one headless picture and ignore my profile call me beautiful, I get a bit stabby. |

I think only a few people are truly beautiful to look at but beauty is more about your soul and actions than looks.
I heartily eye roll when I get called beautiful in a message here from one bum pic and a few crap words. Dont waste the compliment until you know someone is worthy of it or it becomes meaningless. |

Last question. No I love people but I wouldn’t automatically think they’re beautiful. Never really thought about that really. |

Yeah sure. Putin so beautiful. Ian Huntley beautiful. "
To you and I, and most people they may not be but I'm sure their mothers at least thought differently. |

On here I don’t really believe it, it’s a common chat up line or first message.
I’m not beautiful either as my male self or female image that I present. That’s not looking for compliments it’s a fact. I’m average at best and in some ways I’m content with it. Advantage of getting older the bullshit meter is a lot more accurate.
However a better compliment in real life is someone saying ‘I find you attractive’ this seems more honest, because attraction is relative to that person. So to me it’s more sincere as it may be my intelligence, manner or values that made me attractive to that person not something as vacuous as just my looks.
Hopefully that makes sense |

I remember how another thread went on this topic. Some people do believe that everyone is beautiful in some way. I tend to use the word only for the classic example of beautiful - men and women. |

In terms I’d like I don’t think I’m ever going to be beautiful as far as beauty standards go and I feel that way for multiple reasons some you can probably guess. So I’m not a fan of being called beautiful though I appreciate that people may think that of me if they fall for me.
I think we can all be and are beautiful in our own ways and to someone, especially those that love us. But I think there are rigid standards of beauty that make it difficult for us to appreciate this about others and ourselves. As I guess I show about myself in the first part of this post.
Who knows anything |

I only ever call my wife and kids beautiful. I think for someone to be truly beautiful to me there has to be some kind of emotional connection.
I can’t remember the last time someone called me beautiful so I can’t tell you how I feel about it |

I don't think many people are truly beautiful, the vast majority of us are pretty average looking. But it's very subjective, and I appreciate that I'm beautiful to some people, and like it when they tell me. On here when random strangers that can't see my face tell me I'm beautiful? Jog on mate, that's a woefully dire attempt to get into my knickers!
The unexpected times when someone says it can be very flattering...not so long ago I helped an elderly lady reach something on a high supermarket shelf, and she looked at me and in a very serious voice said "you're very beautiful. I wish my daughter had been as pretty as you...but she was ugly!" It made me laugh, but I also finished doing my shopping with an extra little spring in my step. |

I get called beautiful by people on here and I just take it as a nice compliment but it doesn't really mean anything more to me.
I do like it when people say who get to know me call me a beautiful person or beautiful lady because I feel they are describing my character rather than my looks, and this makes me feel happy.

I am always flattered if someone calls me beautiful and I often call people beautiful … and it isn’t necessarily anything to do with how they look.
I certainly would not say that everyone has something beautiful about them… some people are ugly in their mind and in their appearance.
Physical beauty is of no concern. But I have no time for people who have ugliness in their minds or their hearts z |

Beauty is defined as pleasing to the mind and senses... So for me that isn't just how you look.
If someone says I'm beautiful though I tend to think of looks. It feels deeper and possibly more genuine than someone saying 'you're gorgeous' which is always the term that gets used!
I would rather be thought of as kind and a nice person and if anyone says I'm beautiful I shake my head! |

Owl here: I look for beauty as I've been programmed by circumstance to look for ugly and am conscious of this. There are many who have little beauty and lots of ugly and I choose to not over exert myself with such people. I dislike being complimented on stuff which I cannot take responsibility for and for things which I am not happy with. Beautiful is sometimes a trigger for such thoughts. |

It’s become a generic phrase.
Nobody puts their heart into it anymore.
All to get their dicks wet and pies filled.
Has a knock on effect of being just that, a generic phrase, now when you see somebody who you believe is truly beautiful how do you tell them?
Because in the back of their mind it’ll just be “another guy after his cock sucked”.
Cheers fellas.

Love being called beautiful, gorgeous or whatever else
I know I have a sensual energy about me but I don’t always see myself as beautiful, so it’s nice to hear it from others as a confirmation

I do sometimes use it though.

It depends on who is saying it really, if a friend was to say I’m a beautiful person I would be overjoyed to hear that.
I tend to think if it’s said from someone who hardly knows you, it’s a heap of shite.

Like any compliment if I feel it is genuine and it’s from someone who knows me well and has actually seen my face then I find it endearing, thoughtful and it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
If it’s a random response to a new picture on here I would struggle to believe it and wonder what they would hope to gain by gain by giving the compliment xx |
