Lawful chastisement is still a defence in England and Wales, ie, a light, open handed smack that leaves no mark.
It will be illegal in Wales after 21st March this year, but still legal in England.
Funny really that it's taken this long. You can smack a child but not an adult even though one of them might be a really vulnerable little toddler who can't yet speak and the other a pub bouncer!

Why do you think you can't say "you're talking bollocks?" That's bollocks and you know it.
What you might want to consider is whether it's an appropriate time and manner in which to say it. There's nothing in law to say that you can't robustly disagree with someone otherwise half the panel on Question time would be under arrest.

Some have said petrol and diesel, I think fossil fuels wont be made illegal to buy/sell/use, but they will be even more heavily taxed until the demand drops so much that it becomes uneconomical to process the crude oil.
Govt will want to squeeze every drop of cash in taxes that they can out of anything they can, so they will just increase taxes to what they don't want people to use/eat/drink instead of making something illegal. Making something illegal is ok to a point by issuing fines, but repeat offenders will eventually have to go to jail where inmates cost money and cant pay fines to govt. |

I als o think it should be illegal or at least a sackable offence to knowingly publish false information as news and there should be tighter laws over companies folding and reopening under a new name, often leaving customers and employees of the previous company out of pocket. |

Interesting program on radio 4 yesterday, they've taken the DNA of a cow, synthesized it and add to yeast and ferment. It can produce milk and cheese that contains the same proteins and fats etc as dairy produce. Won't be long till they do the same with meat in my opinion. The tester said the milk and cheese tasted the same as normal dairy products |

That probably won't be a problem in Ireland with its prevailing south west winds coming off a vast expanse of ocean, but in India, China and Indonesia the inhabitants are already experiencing extremely serious and adverse health effects from the absense of clean, unpolluted breathable air!
And they are unwilling to enact legislation to make clean air a basic human right, for fear of stifling industrial growth
