I know it's becoming more and more common to see/hear people talk about, which I'm so happy to see that people are taking mental health seriously.
But tonight dear forumites I come for positivity to try and help lift the black cloud that falls over many (myself included). On this night and any other, just want people to know that there's always someone to talk to and to never give up |

"Feel better soon.
A recent trick that's been helping me is using positive visualisation. Guided meditations on YouTube etc. It's not a panacea, but it can be a bit of a leg up"
Hmm will try that myself thanks for the tip. |

I'm in the same boat as you at the moment, just feel numb to everything and not looking forward to anything. I've been here before so I know it's only temporary but struggling to get rid of my black cloud. *hugs* |

Always open to chat mate. Been there myself several years ago.
I do get your thinking Sparkles, unfortunately not everyone can carry that burden alone. I did for over 10 years and then cracked.
Talking is always good, especially with someone whose not a direct part of your life or situation xx |

I know how to fix my struggle and I have taken steps to do so, but the next step requires my work to do something that they said will take time.
The problem is because I take on other people's problems, I also work on the mental health line of a health insurer, I take on a lot of mental health issues. I realise I have the problem and Danish is helping me to get it under control. She has been instrumental to me these past few weeks |

I know from my own experiences, being on my phone til silly o'clock is really bad for me, and completely fucks up my sleep routine which on turn makes the rest of the world a dark place.
If I can give you any advice it would be to put your phone down.
I appreciate i'm just a random er off the Internet, and you seem to know how to help yourself anyway but I wish you well Op, and any ome else who's struggling x |

Hi OP, I dont know if this will help but I find laughing at your problems helps, at least it does me. I dont normally shout about this but I have something called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis its a terminal disease where the lungs scar up until you basically suffocate for lack of oxygen. Every day I wake up and say Morning lungs, one day you'll kill me but not today ya bastards!. It's like saying, yes I know you're going to kill me. But, so what everyone dies, you cant scare me with that, cos no one gets out alive. If someone asks how I am I have 3 standard responses:
1.Still dying, but decided cant be bothered to today
2.Not dead yet, still working on it though
3. Other than having a terminal disease I'm disgustingly healthy.(It helps that this one is actually true)
I laugh at it because it lets my mind realise I know its there but its not going to get me down. Laughing at it puts you in control., it lets you control it rather than letting it control you. Maybe you can come up with some things similar? For another example I have to use oxygen because of it but I tell people its great because it means I can effectively breathe thru my ears hehe.
I dont know if this will help you, but it really helps me so I hope it does you too. Hope you feel better soon Tony |

That's brilliant I'm glad you can laugh at your disease.
The biggest issue with mental health is that it's invisible and unless people start talking more about it then they suffer in silence. Now I'm normally a positive person living around a 9-10 with my mental health so when I dip down to a 4-5 it feels like a massive issue, but there are people out there living at 4-5 most days so when they dip it's worse but I think I notice mine more because I'm not my normal care free me.
I'm just taking everything a day at a time soon I'll emerge being the positive me I've always been just at the moment everything seems so dark and I'm lighting the way with a match |

Lovely thread op. There is always someone to talk to and sometimes we find them when we least expect it. I found someone here a few months ago who just talked to me. He made me laugh and listened to me, never judged and kept reinforcing positivity to and at me. Now I hardly recognise who I was then and all because someone took the time to reach out |

I saw something yesterday that really slapped me. The word 'got'is negative. For instance : I've got to go to work. It's a negative. Change it to' I get to go to work, as I'm lucky enough to have a job'
The idea is, from what I can gather, the word got is overwhelming. But the fact you get to do something, can become a positive, a silver lining so to speak.
I've always looked for silver linings on the bad shit, I live with depression, and it helps me when I'm super low |

There is always a silver lining if you look for it. The problem is we dont always look. One of my silver linings is since my diagnosis 4 years ago I've done more of the things I've always wanted to do than I did in the 20 odd years before it. My bucket list might not be complete yet but its a hell of a lot more complete than it ever was and probably more than it was ever going to be. So, hi ho silver linings eh |

You'll get there. Opening up about things is a huge step towards it. Before long that match will be a torch and then a bonfire and things wont be dark at all. |

Anyone struggling remember you have already survived 100% of your bad days and you are stronger than you think you are
These things are a daily battle, appreciate the good days and accept the bad. Always talk to someone, don't suffer alone |

Totally agree with this
Also try and go for a 10 min walk. Even just round the block, get a bit of fresh air and sunshine if you are blessed. It will help.
Sending positive thoughts x |
