It's amazing how popular marathons have become lately. Races that used to be low key events are now routinely sold out in hours or even minutes and more and more are turning to entry draws. It's nice in that this means more people are enjoying the sport but can be very disappointing to miss a place in a race you set your heart on.

I have failed 4th time. I have done, and doing again this year the London 100 cycle, swam the Serpentine and need the marathon to complete the London triathlon but can’t get a place in the ballot |

Good luck to anyone who got in. I did it in 2017 after getting a place through my running club ballot after bring rejected through my official ballot entry.
The training is tough but if you've got people around you who are happy to train with you it will make it easier. Mix up your sessions. Put some effort sessions in (I know all runs are effort session but include some fartlek or interval sessions). |
