How interesting has your life been?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ok so we all have a little drama at some point, but sometimes when I talk to other people I realise how much different my life has been compared to many others I know.
Lots seem to breeze through life.
So when I look back on my 50plus year's I can recall a very interesting life lived thus far lots of good stuff, lot's of bad and some terrible stuff I'd rather forget and amazing stuff I never want to forget.
I doubt it would make a best selling book but I think it would make interesting reading.
What about you guys, dull, exciting, sad, truly terrible, amazing or non of the above? |

Got pretty mad after I left for uni. I think it’s relatively dull now although my friends don’t think being in a poly relationship whilst raising a baby is dull. But yeah it’s getting more interesting- I’m just a small boy |

It's always good to realise you're not the only one to have made dumb choices, have risky preferences, prefered devastatingly bad situations over safe one's.
We're all work in progress and those who've fallen always seem to be more interesting? |

Good question.
I’m 31 and have lived an extraordinary life which I’m proud of but when meeting people it can’t really be shared as your right, people live so differently and some will never understand. (Plus I guess time and place along with some actually don’t care lol)
I’m an adventurer and not everybody is but it’s definitely refreshing when you tell them a story and you have them on the edge of their seats |

"Hasn't everyone had an interesting life in some sort of way?"
No, not mine very boring with the odd spell in hospital which was probably way more exciting than the daily life |

I could write a book about it and it would be quite a edge of the seat gripping one, with lots of family drama (involving stolen inheritance from a family member) that I couldn’t even write a plot if I made it up.
And obviously my coming of being myself and the woman I’m today, which I’ve been told is fascinating x

It's been eventful, but without these experiences I would not be me...I am who I am because of my story. Would I change anything? Probably not. Of course there are regrets, of course hindsight is a wonderful teacher but it is what it is, learn and move on |

Life has pretty much plodded on for me, with the odd bit of excitement here and there.
In one of my hobbies I broke a Guinness World Record a few years ago. I also won a couple of awards for this hobby, and have met some interesting people on the way, too, so not too dull when I think about it. |

Some parts completely boring and non eventful and other parts full of guns, bombs, hijackings and armed robberies which from the outside have the makings of a great tale but in reality were just the norm so at the time were not life-changing events. |

I've had some hilarious moments and memorable moments including a boss sitting me down after I'd revealed I'd left my husband and telling me he wanted to cash in his pension, both of us resign, and go travelling together he said I'd have £100k and he'd have £100k
i was overwhelmed and embarrassed at the time with noone to talk to
So I said I wasn't sure of my plans ... He fell seriously ill a while after and eventually died.. His wife never knew about the conversation or that he was looking for somewhere else to live (not with me i hasten to add) |

I've had experiences not many others have, I've survived things many have not, I've met some of the most famous (and infamous) people in the world.
I've met people who others would walk past in the street who's life experiences have touched me to the core.
I've done things I regret and things I'd love to do again. Things I've enjoyed and things I've not. As most of us have.
Overall, a life well lived I think.

Life is magnificent in all its ups and downs. I learn a lot from each experience and every experience has taught me something very interesting ! Not to mention, the people I've come across so far in my life every person is different! |

Same as you OP, my life has never been dull. I was born into an unconventional environment and I guess could never be 'normal'. Life has been full of challenge, adventure and interesting experiences.
But its like a seesaw that is rarely balanced and thats getting exhausting |

When I tell people about parts of my life they often seem to think it must’ve been interesting and different, but it’s honestly felt pretty mundane to me, I know that I do have a bit of a personality flaw which is that regardless of how impressive I think it would be to achieve something, then if I do achieve it then the fact that I could do it means it obviously can’t have been that special or difficult, so never actually has any sense of achievement. |

If I could brutally honestly sum my life so far it would have to be this..
It’s been very unpredictable and taken some serious obstacles to overcome and endure some harsh tests/setbacks and the trials it brings with it...
Though I can be grateful and happy for the fact that I’ve always had a roof over my head and food/water + clothes etc and a supporting family..
I can say not a lot off things have gone accordingly to plan in life but some have eventually gone in my favour..
That being said I have had some serious near death encounters in life be it on the job or say on the road etc which make me seriously question how in the fuck am I alive and still standing while typing this…
I turn 30 this year and I have no idea how the rest off my life is going to go better off just keeping a low profile and live an honest life and carry on doing honest living jobs while providing for the family or others..
There are people out there suffering way worse from:
Poverty/financial/mental/physical/alcoholic/drug/sexual issues or end up homeless/in prison/committing criminal acts from minor to major serious offences or end up having unspeakable things done to them especially those in war zones or deprived areas/countries..
So In the end life has been bittersweet and sometimes a harsh lesson but I’ll make the best off it and adapt if it means maintaining a low profile at times boring life so be it….
sometimes a little eventfulness or exhilaration is good but not when it ends up causing problems for yourself or others.. |

I have had a very fortune life, I’ve travelled, achieved dreams and goals and I’ve met some wonderful people - I’ve also met my fair share of arseholes who have tried to restrict me, blow out my candle to make there’s shine brighter and had an absent father from the age of 7 - everything in life I feel happens for a reason, some people are only meant to be with us for a short while others a lifetime, despite the heartache and pain that comes with it, it’s a beautiful journey none the less xx |

"I'm about to be evicted from the flat i have rented for 19 years because I got a puppy, my life is about to get very interesting, if somewhat scary. I'm essentially about to become homeless.. "
I would certainly get advice on that because the law changed last year and landlords can no longer evict tenants for having a pet. You may need to pay a higher rent deposit. I'd certainly look into it.
Best of luck with your fur baby.
