How did Noel Gallagher manage to write ‘don’t look back in anger’ in his early twenties?! You aren’t born with Wisdom (from what I understand of life). What other poignant lyrics were written by young geniuses? |

"How the feck does anyone write songs? I struggle to compose a meaningful sentence"
Hahaha! Meaning is in the eye of the beholder... or the ear of the listener ...or the hand of the feeler. |

Apparently, Noel Gallagher used a rhyming dictionary to write his lyrics.
Makes sense when you think about it - how else could he have concocted such gems as 'slowly walking down the hall/faster than a cannonball"? |

Fun fact he managed to write supersonic in the time it took the band to eat a Chinese. |

I love writing my own songs and performing them sometimes I write something and thing where did it come from and other times write and emotions drive it.
Either way I love it and then performing the songs cos then they change in what mean |

These Days by Jackson Browne,
Jackson Browne was only 16 years old when he wrote the song which deals with loss and regret. Nico first recorded that song in 1967 |

Donovan was 19 I think when he wrote
When sundown pales the sky
I want to hide a while, behind your smile
And everywhere I'd look, your eyes I'd find
Catch the wind is a beautiful song |

"So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late"
I'm not sure it was exactly the most profound song ever written.
Like most of their songs it was just nursery rhyme style nonsense and catchy.
Though that first album is still an absolute banger to this day |

"George Michael wrote careless whisper when he was in his teens.
(I think I heard it was at 14, but I might be wrong) "
I heard that too. Very insightful for someone so young! |

Anything before 1990 by Morrissey, Weller, Kate Bush and Costello are words of wisdom.
The Yanks have Dylan,Fry/Henley,Mould/Hart, Springsteen, Westerberg, Chuck D, Mitchell, Young, Tori Amos and Vedder. They now have Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean. We have Dave and Alex Turner.
For pure wit, its gotta be Shaun Ryder or Jarvis Cocker.
I love good lyrics. Even NO! NO!There's no limit

I beg to differ. “Slip inside the eye of your mind. And you know you might find”. This shows an awareness introspection. |

Personally find it to be awfully simple doggerel, and any deep meaning it may have is utterly destroyed by the last line of the song which is only there because he couldn’t resist a last rhyming couplet which utterly reverses the whole point of the song |

I’m not surprised really, 4 chords and seven repeated lines. |

I looked it up today. He was 17/18 when he wrote it. |
