So the Mandela effect started when Nelson Mandela died and people started going on social media saying tgat they remembered Nelson Mandela died years before he did some even remembered his funeral televised and thousands of people had the same memories and then ever since there have been more examples of stuff that people remembered but in this reality its different |

Ok so how do you explain the residue? A perfect example is inthe movie back to the future! There's a scene where doc gets killed by the Libyan terrorist and the van they were driving was always a dark green Toyota but now I our reality it's a baby blue VW camper! Now most of them didn't have a sun roof so the Libyan terrorist could not of pop up through the roof either the gun but most Importantly there's videos on YouTube of Americans stating that they sold there Toyota vans of the same make and model and got more money for it as they put in the advert that it was the same van as the terrorist van in back to the future! He even kept the page from the car advert he put it in and shows it in the vid saying the same van as the terrorist van in back to the future and it had a sunroof there's loads of other vid aswell from different people saying the same thing! Its not something that they would all get wrong? |

It's interesting, I wouldn't say it is mind-blowing.
Memories of events and quotes get hazy over time as well as diluted by other people's interpretations of events...
In the case of film quotes how many parodies have been recreated? With lines misquoted? And maybe that is what people are remembering over the original

But the human mind is massively fallible where memory is concerned. I don't think is any kind of evidence of a shift in parallel universes. Not sure how the correlation to LHC in 2008 has been decided was the cause! There are lots of accounts demonstrating the power of suggestion - ghosts for example were almost never heard of until the Gothic writers of the 18th Century, and UFOs until the sci fi writers of the 19th Century. |

In fact most of the "quote" Mandela effect examples are down to misquotes being used instead of the actual quote.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of good examples, but quotes are poor examples because of the way misquotes condition the brain over the years. |

To be fair when it comes to visuals, it's different. It's not that it did actually take place but their memory is that of seeing something else.
In the 90s people "remember" a movie starring the comedian called Sinbad as a Genie called Shazam. Never happened. There was a movie with Shaq called Kazam though.
Sinbad did dress as a genie for some TV thing though. Just mistaken convergence of 2 memories. |

The memory is a funny thing. There’s been particular events happened within my group of friends where I could swear I was there, they are adamant I wasn’t. I think it’s more down to being told the story so many times it forms a part of our memories. |

We only ever have our perceptions of reality and they are influenced in real time by our biases, experience etc. Their memory storage is also subject to such biases and when we recall them, they seem to be recreated like new memories. Our minds work 24/7 too, where our memories may be influenced and altered, potentially deleted.
It's amazing really that we think our memories are truly accurate. |
