No. I have all the friends I want. And that’s not many. No point in being my friend anyway. I’ve no friend pics. Yet people still send requests. No idea why!

Not really. If they like you enough then they can contact you which bypasses their own settings. Then again it is possible hat they aren't as interested as you, the person trying to send the friend request.
