I love where I love now.
Once the kids have left home we would probably move out of the city and get a small holding (I'm a farmers daughter!)
We have the beach a few mins away, the south downs a few mins the other way. Just wish I lived in tbe house opposite though. Much nicer than ours! |

Probably York. Or Boston Spa. I love York's history and architecture. Boston Spa is one of the nicest villages I've ever stayed in, just a very photogenic place with lots to do. |

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please) |
I love where I live on the southern end of Snowdonia, but as a second choice, Grasmere in the Lake District would be good, or perhaps rural Yorkshire.
Has to be countryside anyway. |

I’m happy in Edinburgh, and have been here for the last 14 years. I won’t always be here though; I quite like thought of retiring abroad when the kids have flown the nest. |

"Heres a question ive been pondering for last few years and ive been to every nook and cranny Of the uk....and still cant pin point although i do have A few favourite areas i fancy moving to"
Either Galloway, or way up north Highlands on the West Coast. No crazy council ideas and perfect roads! |

"Edinburgh "
Don’t come to Edinburgh it’s a total mess, craters in the roads, cycle lanes for non existent cyclists, crazy council ideas, LEZ, (low emissions zone) which means if your car is old enough you’re not allowed to come into the centre of Edinbollard. Your car maybe roadworthy, but the roads aren’t fit to be driven on |

"Ramsey on the Isle of Man, I could save a fortune when the TT races are on."
The bikes pass within 10ft of my front gate lol, but it's so expensive to live here & about to get a whole lot worse when bills go up shortly |

I was up north just at the start of the winter. The roads after Fort William were fantastic. Not a pothole in sight. |

On top of all the roadworks in Leith!
My son lives in Edinburgh so up there regularly, I'd move in a heartbeat |

How awful of the council to look to improve the quality of the air for the majority of inhabitants who are non-car owners or who use public transport to get into the city centre. Pure madness, I tell you.
To be clear, I own a couple of cars which would fall foul of the regulations (and a couple which do not), but I get that my wants and desires sometimes need to cede to the interests of the majority.
It's a city I know and love well, but it hasn't been a city which is driver friendly for quite some time, particularly during the festival.
I would agree however that the council for many years has prioritised the commercial interests of the festival and the Christmas/Hogmanay events over the needs of residents and tax payers. |
