Those that know muscle injuries and stuff, I have a question...

I have a knee. Two actually and neither of them are a that good after a few injuries and bad exercises in the army in the 70's.

I had surgery on the right one 15 years ago (a tibial tubercle transfer) which now means my knee doesn't fully bend due to the tight muscle over it.

I've been working on it for months and I can finally just get my heel to my bum, only just though.

Is it better to keep it continually stretched or would the muscle fibres lengthen better by stretching and relaxing it?

I think in general "bouncing" a stretch is bad form so in my definitely-not-a-medical-expert opinion, I'd say slow and gradual stretching is better.

I'd pick dynamic stretching over static stretches every time.

Look at de francos agile 8 or limber 11 for overall lower body mobility. Takes 10 minutes every day if that and really helps in my experience.

May or may not work for you but worth a try

As a fellow injury laden Sod; I was always told to keep moving muscles to improve their function.
