Name something that you’re definitely not making up, but which no one else ever remembers
I remember a sketch program with Robbie Coltrane that for years I thought was called “laugh, I nearly paid my income tax” which was ungoogleable. Even when I eventually worked out it was called “laugh, I nearly paid my license fee” no one else ever recalled it
What obscure stuff do you recall? |

Not quite, in that I have subsequently proved it to be a real tv program, it’s more the “why does no one else remember this” bit
It doesn’t help when your memory is inaccurate, another program will remember clearly is Lame Ducks but for years I thought it was called Ducks and Drakes, and again it was hard to Google to prove it existed until I got the name right |

The mr "
Weren’t they like Wagon Wheels?
Remind me of lyrics to a DJ Shadow track:
Mauren's got five sisters. They l all got ass.
One of them's got eyes as big a jolly ranchers..
Beautiful girl, she's a beautiful girl…

I remember both. Pink Panther bars were really synthetic tasting and I’ve now got the theme song to Big Blue Marble in Space going round in my head |

"A program for kids in the late 60’s/early 70’s called ‘Joe’ I was trying to explain it to someone the other week and ended up finding a couple of eps on YouTube."
I remember Joe. The images were just still.
In a time of Pogles Wood and Camberwick Green I didn't take much from Joe |

Here’s one for any mid 2000’s gamers….
Dizzy Rascal doing commentary on one of the FIFA Street games. Nobody seems to remember this but I can clearly recall him calling Michael Owen “Micky O” and freestyling halfway through a match. |

My sister and I talked about this yesterday. We used to watch Whose Line is it Anyway and there was a sketch where Ryan said "look, three penguins".
She dissolved into giggles and it still makes her laugh today. Other people must think we're barking and our parents don't remember it. It's just a little giggle between us. |

Yeah I just remembered Joe’s little round rosy cheeks
I totally loved Pogles Wood. There was an exhibition at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull a couple of years ago featuring puppets and characters from old kids shows. An original Bagpuss and his friends were there and some frames from Noggin The Nog and all of the Pogles. I got a bit teary and nostalgic when I saw them |

Really odd this - I remember when I was a child at primary school our caretaker called us out and we saw the Space Shuttle piggy backing onto the plane which took it to different destinations.
I looked it up on the net and In 1984 it came to an Airshow in the UK…. I remember it vividly… |

The pink and white striped thing was a rabbit called Tog. I can’t remember what Joe’s folks did. The one I watched the other day had them moving house because Joe’s mum was pregnant. |

I remember it.
I also happen to know that the only reason Red Dwarf happened (or that it got renewed after its first series cant totally recall which) was because the bbc had scheduled a 2nd series of happy families on BBC 2 but the writers and cast only ever wanted to do one series, which left a gap in the programing schedule and they had to find a ready set of scripts to go to fill it up.
So there's a bot of obscure trivia about happy families. |
