"Why would you blend coca cola and colgate toothpaste and drink it. I thought root beer was something completely different to dr pepper"
unless we Brits have a definition of Root Beer then understood Dr. P was a "branded" american version - and my taste experiences of it were that ... just wondered if anyone else felt the same?? |

Totally different, Root beer is awesome or mix in a half pint glass, half glass measure of lager, half glass measure of coca cola and one shot of amaretto. Voila you have alcoholic Dr Pepper. |

Dr Pepper tastes like cherry Coke..."

Ditto. Root Beer tastes like recycled dentist mouthwash. Dr. Pepper has a nice refreshing flavour when it's really cold and you're really thirsty. |

Root beer is not Dr Pepper, they are two totally separate drinks.
There aren't that many places that sell root beer now. I love it, its my favourite drink and I make the most of it when in the states.
Many years ago they used to sell it in Macdonalds but stopped as it wasn't very popular. I love it

Root beer was originally made using the root of a sassafras plant (or the bark of a sassafras tree) as the primary flavor. Dr Pepper is a soft drink marketed as having a unique flavor. W.W. Clements, a former CEO and president of the Dr Pepper/7-Up Company, described the taste of Dr Pepper as one-of-a-kind, saying, "I've always maintained you cannot tell anyone what Dr Pepper tastes like because it's so different. It's not an apple, it's not an orange, it's not a strawberry, it's not a root beer, it's not even a cola. It's a different kind of drink with a unique taste all its own." |

I've only ever had root beer once and that was back when McD's used to sell it in the UK.
That once was enough !
I quite like Dr Pepper though - wouldn't go out and buy it all the time but it makes a change from Diet Coke every now n then.
My favourite 'pop' of the minute is Asda's own brand diet lemonade with raspberry. Lovely in a tall glass with lots of ice. |
