Ok swingers.
I'm soon (maybe next week or two at most, depends on the ever changing fluid situation?) to take my leave of you for a while (temporary absence NOT quitting the site and all you gorgeous lovely people). *
Almost all the red tape n beurocratic shite is sorted- passports, insurance, covid passports for Poland/Slovakia), border passes, aid licences etc etc etc etc etc...
I'll shortly be riding over to a certain conflict area with another rider (can NOT say where for OPSEC {google it}). We'll be using our motorcycles to run urgent medical supplies between border aid depots, main hospitals and field hospitals. (Our group has already sent trucks full of med equipment, an ambulance (more being sorted) and a med coach full of volunteers) and are setting up a field hospital.
I promise to try to not get shot or turned into a veneer - that would REALLY piss me off
Its gonna be tough, 1523 miles each way not incl the running around once there (on a motorbike remember?)
Anyway, carry on swinging, pls love each other platonically as humans (and hopefully physically as well?) and above all else - just be excellent in everything you do OK?

I do have a justgiving page, BUT that was to source/buy 2 seconhand motorcycles that are more suitable to the terrain and whats left of the road infrastructure. Unfortunately that seems to been hampered by a supposedly BRITISH? guy who thinks all Ukranians are na..zis and got my fb and page suspended?? Wtaf??? So me and A.M.B. are gonna use our own bikes at our own cost and risk.
Also, if I post a link on here my account would likely be suspended or closed???  |

Fantastic and very selfless kind gesture. Even if it helps just 1 person, it will be worth it. But I suspect it will help a great deal many more. Kudos to you and stay sharp, stay safe and stay focused.

Well your skin is the right colour so you shouldn't have any problem with borders. I'd keep Sharon under wraps if I were you though, my understanding is they're not very tolerant/understanding of LGBTQ+ matters.

Admirable thing you're doing - best of luck.
As I learned in the Army, if there are rounds going past, get your head down first and worry about whose they are after...
I have been thinking on this too - actually DOING something. How many routine atrocities have gone by without much more than a £10 donation to the DEC - via text, so you don't even have to get up out your seat? It just doesn't feel like enough anymore.
So...I can drive pretty much anything and if there's a group or organisation out there that needs drivers to take donated supplies to the border or to taxi those escaping across it to safer places in other countries, I could do that. There seem to be so many independent groups doing things like it that it's a task to know where to look, who to ask.
I have responsibilities to small people here, so I don't think it would be right to volunteer to fight. Otherwise, I think it's likely I would. |

Since the Brit mil aren’t deployed to Ukraine and have informed soldiers it would be illegal for them to go then that’s irrelevant.
As for a medical, your doctor will give you a fit for duty medical for £80.
So if the company he’s volunteering for has requested he get one then that’s why.
I don’t see why you’re so bent out of shape about it?
Not getting enough attention or something?
Ate some bad shrimp?

I was asked about his background. I'm saying what I know he isn't. And it's his mental health that's in question here - I wouldn't give him a cert if I knew what it was for. I can't believe he's been accepted by anyone. It doesn't make any sense. This fighting is in an area that's incredibly hard to get to, even for journalists. There is no shortage of local volunteers - lots of Ukranians want to serve in some way, it's patronising to even think they'd need this dude to ride his bike all that way. |

I thought the Ukrainians were knocking back volunteers who didn't want to fight?
They will invite you to join their millitary but guys offering to be medics without signing up (for the duration) and at least one experienced fireman have been told no.
Also... I'm not going to say mercenaries because they ain't, tbey are war tourists, offering to do a few weeks or a couple of months (including guys with experience in Syria) have been knocked back by official Ukrainian forces.
Also A3ov and right sektor haven't taken that many volunteers. And lets face it they are.... Picky, yeah I'll be charitable and say picky. |

-That's a fair-enough thing to do, but Fab won't lie to people about your mobile location surely, it just won't provide it (ie if you don't want them to). Otherwise what is the point in having this powerful option? I think they are stating your registered address.
(It's particularly powerful of course when different parties can suddenly find each other in a place that is entirely different to their registered addresses!) |

I’m not sure what you mean. Basically if my postcode is set to say Barnet then it will show that I’m a certain amount of miles from my friend in Manchester. When I’m sitting next to my friend in Manchester the miles show exactly the same. So it’s based on the postcode I entered. |

Unless any of us know the OP personally, we should avoid making assumptions and take the OP at face value.
Lots of people have gone to Western Ukraine or border areas to volunteer with medical aid charities etc. Whether people go there by car, plane, motorbike or fucking hot air balloon seems also irrelevant to me. |

Most of the fighting is in the Donbas region. Volunteers (even journalists) are not getting there. That isn't News news. It's too often presented like a soap opera and people seem to be eager for a sweet role in it. |

They will invite you to join their millitary but guys offering to be medics without signing up (for the duration) and at least one experienced fireman have been told no.
Also... I'm not going to say mercenaries because they ain't, tbey are war tourists, offering to do a few weeks or a couple of months (including guys with experience in Syria) have been knocked back by official Ukrainian forces.
Also A3ov and right sektor haven't taken that many volunteers. And lets face it they are.... Picky, yeah I'll be charitable and say picky. "
