Just a bit of fun
What was the best raffle prize you or your family have won ?
A few years ago I won a chocolate hamper ....a ton of chocolate
And I remember my Dad winning a portable colour TV in the late 80's early 90's
What about you ? |

I won first place in a raffle - 4 adult tickets for a Sunday lunch on the Severn Valley railway.
Only problem was I hadn't entered the raffle. My dad had and decided to put my name and number on the ticket without telling me. So I got a very strange phone call telling me I'd won that I thought was a scam.
Turns out it was real. I had won. Then covid hit and in the end I had to swap the prize for a gift voucher. Still to use it but it's worth £240, so not a bad prize. Really must book a trip  |

Back in the 80's I was doing a disco in a football club. It was there Christmas disco party with Raffle. First prize was a colour tv. The organizers came up to me, the D.J. and asked me to pull out the first ticket. I only pulled out my ticket. There were eruptions in the hall shouting fix fix fix. I had to forego the prize. And pull out another ticket.  |

When I worked for a well-known supermarket I won a television one Christmas party and the following year I won £200 cash.
Other prizes I've won (not raffle) are a wombles LP when I was really young and a holiday to Greece when I was 18 |

I won a bottle of pomagne at a local fete in the early 80's.
Promising i would take it home for my parents I then proceeded to open it and drink it.
I was well well under the legal age.
I was very sick. |
