If you want to get in shape lift weights and watch your diet. Do cardio if you want but I don’t really do much cardio these days the odd run that’s it. That said I have entered the great south run in oct haha

Front crawl is fantastic for developing upper body tone, have to go at a high intensity to get anything out of it. I find the gym/weights and running better for all round fitness. |

Swimming is low impact and strengthens your body. Cons being that the chlorine can damage your hair over time. If you do steady state workouts the calorie burn is predictable and it is stated to improve lung capacity.
The gym encompasses many activities but I'll assume you meant purely weightlifting, compound exercises like squats and deadlifts mixed in with kettlebell swings and box jumps will scorch the fat from your frame aswell as improving your athletic abilities. |
