Used to be a place to park just off junction 18 heading into Bath. Pretty much straight away on your right when you come off the m4 heading to Bath.
Was closed for ages. Don't know if it re opened. Had a picnic area, parking and toilets. Lots of guys used to meet there so I'd guess it would be there or thereabouts |

If you mean the Tormarton site just off J18, it’s mostly a notorious gay spot*, so if that’s not your thing, tread carefully as that mouth might not be who you think it is!

The toilet block at J18 is long gone, so any GH is no more, and even the car park it was in is closed. There's plenty of fun to be had in the woods though.
Leave M4 at J18. Take A48 south and in 1/4 mile there is a layby on left. Ignore that one and take centre lane ready to do a U-turn into the opposite layby on the northbound carriageway. Try the path near the North end of the layby into the disused carpark (best after dark), or the woods at the south end. Lots of sheltered spots in daylight, also popular in the dark, but muddy when wet. Have fun! |
