"Oh don't forget cheddar cheese ......it's not made in cheddar "
"I thought it had protected status.."
Cheddar has never had any protection, it's made all over the place, including in the village of Cheddar. The USA makes the most, meaning that it'll never get protection here.
On the other hand, Stilton can only be made in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire, meaning that it can't be made in the village of Stilton which is in Cambridgeshire. |

Cheddar cheese is so called because it uses a process in the making of it called cheddaring |

A lot of the major foreign Beers and Lagers can be brewed in the UK, under Licensing agreements with UK Breweries. I should know, as I was a Licensee for almost 30 years. |

Back in the 1990's, when Coors Beer arrived in the UK, it was brewed under licence at the Scottish & Newcastle brewery in Manchester. |

I used to work for one of the big brewery companies, who brew a lot of stuff under licence. The thrice-annual beer allowance was jolly handy |

My bar was 1 of only 2 in the whole of Hull, to sell Coors back in 1990-1993. It sold very well, thanks to their advertising! |

"Just to reassure folks, Dorset Knobs are only manufactured in Dorset, by Moores Biscuits.
I know you will sleep easier for knowing this. "
But are they made from actual knobs? |

This made in the UK under licence is another scam. It never tastes the same ..
The water here is totally different and it's like a cheap imitation imo

I don’t know about the water but it definitely doesn’t taste the same. I like Czech beers and the ones you get in the supermarket aren’t the same as the ones I had in Prague. |
