Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and it's not like there are not plenty of shows and movies being re-booted, re-made or spun off into something new.

Personally I'd really like to see Farscape or Buck Rodgers make a comeback (if only because of my childhood crush on Wilma ) OR see Karl Urban get the Dredd spin off he deserved.

What about you?

Firefly and Bunheads.

Both brilliant series that got cancelled after one season due to studio politics.

I'm in the middle of binge watching UFO now, and it's pretty good.

The sexism means it'll never be shown on TV again, even though the show was very progressive at the time having a large number of female roles. The other reason it'll never get re-shown is the level of smoking. It really stands out when seen nowadays.

Stargate SG1 / Atlantis, J.A.G., House M.D., C.S.I. New York / Miami, All the Star Treks, wish these had continued.

I was pleased to see C.S.I: Crime Scene Investigation had been revamped into C.S.I: Vegas.

Looking forward to see how the new version of Babylon 5 turns out when released hopefully later this year.

Personally I’m not keen on remakes. I think if it’s not broken why fix it, like and the chocolate factory, gene wilders version was perfect. To me they should come up with an original idea not money grab from an existing fan base

There was a great show on E4 years back called Point Pleasant, which was cut obviously way earlier that they expected and they cobbled together a shit ending. I would love for it to get the full amount of episodes it was supposed to get initially!!!

"Personally I’m not keen on remakes."

In some cases (like Firefly and Bunheads) the shows were cancelled a long time ago and all the original actors have moved on. The only way to get more of those shows would be to remake the whole first season with new actors. I'd certainly watch if either of those 2 got remade.

Dark matter to finish off the other 2 series.

Stargate atlantis finished too early could have gone on way longer than stargate.

airwolf and farscape finished so wouldnt want a remake of them.

babylon 5 wished the war scenes was a whole series of full on battles.

id love to see a full on battle of the timelord war.

dredd and V has already been remade

Firefly, because it deserved more, and better. Although "Serenity" is a cracking film.

Judge Dredd, well...for the life of me I cannot understand why a really good film adaptation hasn't yet been made - I mean, most of the pre-production groundwork's been done already, it's even storyboarded!

But it's such a rich, detailed world...so much there to use!

The Stallone one was shite. He was not Dredd. Karl Urban was much better in the role - I do think he's an underrated actor - and the realisation of Mega City One looked dirty in the right ways. But still...given all the material they had to use the film was underwhelming.

Personally - and it is of course too late now - I think Eastwood would have been perfect. He was the right build, his chin and mouth were the right shape (I'd be surprised if Wagner/Ezquerra/Mills didn't have Dirty Harry in mind when they were creating the character) and most importantly...he has the presence, by the metric fuckton.

I was a kid but I remember Manimal, Street hawk and Automan.

Street Hawk was just Knight Rider but on a motor bike, Automan was riffing on Tron but Manimal was something else.

The actress played Dale in the Flash Gordon movie. Speaking of which, I bet no one remembers "The Highway Men" which had the guy who played Flash Gordon in it and his Truck turned into a helicopter! Some weird riff on Mad Max if I recall correctly.

But they're all on youtube because sometime you just have to double check you where not imagining it lol.

And Terrahawk's was great. I still dont know what Zelda was other than she freaked me out.

I bet no one has ever heard of this one. Key West

Fisher Steven (now a successful TV director) played a budding poet who moved from the Midwest to the Florida keys to embrace his inner Hemingway. There he encounters lots of oddballs while making money as a newspaper reporter.

It also had an early appearance from Jennifer Tilly before she became more widely known.

A lot of the programs mentioned above I loved but not sure if a remake would satisfy that nostalgia; taking Knight Rider reboot as example.
