It has been over a decade since his resignation as essentially coalition supreme commander in Afghanistan yet his decisions had a large impact on the conduct and outcome of the whole thing.
Just wanted opinions since i’ve heard everything from praise to all consuming hatred whenever he is brought up.
General rules-Be nice
There is a heavy amount of politics in this but please try to be somewhat objective no being an edgelord please just because of who you support.
Try to keep it relating to issue at hand as well.

Hmm do have differing opinions at opposite ends of the spectrum there is a lot to respect especially in regards to counter-insurgency tactics and an attempt to avoid civilian casualties.
I try not to judge him too harshly on the fact he did essentially insult the UK armed forces as I think that doesn’t help.Also try to ignore the political situation though I think he handled it poorly regardless of my own views
On the other hand I’ve heard of units pinned down that have had to go all the way up the chain essentially to the future coalition commanders in order to get air support.
