I was looking through my clothes and realised one of my favourite dresses is about 15 years old now. I still love wearing it in the summer and it's still in good condition. I remember buying it on holiday in Belgium in a C&A.
I do have an older dress that I wore to my graduation ball when I was 20, so 17 years old. But I've not had a reason to wear it more than a couple of times since.
My husband still regularly wore his PE shorts from school until I finally threw them out about 2 years back when they got too holey. They were over 20 years old.
How about you? Any stories attached to them? |

A pair of Star wars stormtrooper knickers and Batman ones.
I need to throw them out as they're at least 6 years old but I haven't found any cool replacements anywhere yet |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
A few weeks back I threw out my beloved England rugby shirt that I bought in 1991. It was pretty much held together with hopes and dreams at that point, and had more paint on than may entire house.
I loved that shirt. But it was time
Apart from that... erm... I've a pair of jeans I've had since 2011 and a pair of boots I've had since about 2001. |

"I wore a red and black dress for my wedding in 1988. Last month (33 years later) my daughter wore it for her wedding and it still looked bright and beautiful. " That's Lovely |

I have a crochet cardigan I bought on a family holiday in Cyprus in 1993. I’ve never worn it as so delicate but my grandparents came on that holiday with us & it reminds me of them. Sadly neither are alive now

The last shirt my Grandfather wore before he died 24 years ago. It was his favourite and still has a tiny bloodstain on the collar from where he cut himself shaving.
I only wore it once (to his funeral) but it has followed me all over the world, and still hangs in my cupboard.) |

Probably my zip up hoodie from 2012. Apart from that, I usually make a habit of refreshing parts of my wardrobe every few years and don't really keep things that long |

An unbranded Hoodie I've had for approx 10 years. It's more hole than Hoodie, I wear it 4 days a week for work. I think I'll bin it when either the hood or the cuffs fall off, which may be another year or 2 |

My mum threw out all my dad’s clothes but I wore one of his jumpers for years after he died. Eventually I had to part with it.
I’ve a jacket I bought in 1989 that still does dog walking duties, and a couple of Ogri t-shirts from about the same time.
I do tend to buy good quality gear and wear it until it’s threadbare. I’ve got several shirts that are more than 20 years old. |

I have a no fear hoodie. Bought it 16 years ago. We’d just lost everything in a house fire, it was the 30th December so limited shopping possibilities. I remember going to Sports Direct with my mum and sister, and my sister buying me some underwear, jeans, a t-shirt and the hoodie, so I could change out of my work uniform, as they stank of smoke.
It’s not actually my taste, but it was the best thing I’d seen at the time, as it meant I could shower and change. I pretty much lived in it for a while, haha, but can’t bear to part with it, and sometimes knock about the house or garden in it x Viv x |

I still have a 1978 Bat out of Hell world tour tshirt I bought at the Hammersmith Odeon when I was 14. It'll never fit me again, but there is nothing on earth that could make me get rid/sell it. |

I have an old plain black knitted jumper that I wear just lounging round the house.
I used to wear it lot more regularly out and its been all over Europe and across the Atlantic at least 2 dozen times.
It originally came from C&A and I have a picture from 1988 of me wearing it but it was at least a couple of years old even then.
Its still fine, still fits me and is incredibly comfy. |

Good to hear
I'm impressed by how many people are still fitting into their decades old clothes |

I wore the same t-shirt to give birth to my two. It was given to me by the family of my German pen friend in 1998 so it's probably the oldest thing I own. It's a bit battered now! |

Not very exciting or particularly worth keeping, but I've got a Reebok sweatshirt that I've had since 1993. Looks exactly the same now as it did then - no wear, no discolouration!!!! It gets a wear every now and again I really don't know why I've still got it as it's the only old article I've kept???? |

Probably the first thing Will bought me which is a Chunky knit cream Aran jumper from when he went on a fishing venture to Scotland, we hadn’t been going out very long so must be getting on for near 30 years old |

My oldest item of clothing is without doubt my school tie from junior school.
My oldest item of clothing which I still wear is my warm jumper from a Next sale in around 2002. The neck zip broke years ago, but it's still keeping me toastie warm in my house at 17.5 degrees. |
