Bit of a different take on a music thread.
Are there songs out there that have fabulous lyrics but the melody is just dire?
Or swap it round (after all, us swingers love a swap over  )
Are there songs out there that you love the melody, the beat is amazing but the lyrics are just dross?
I'll start controversially with Radio Gaga by Queen. Fabulous tune but the words are just meh. I mean gaga?? And blabla?? It just irritates me

Many (most?) lyrics are utter garbage when you read them alone. One the one hand we don’t know what the songwriter is thinking of when he wrote it, on the other lyrics and words are often there to evoke a feeling, not be easily understood like a kids comprehension challenge at school. |
