Maybe you can't do much - but YOU can help Ukraine in a small way...

....using whatever you're reading this on right now - Russians largely rely on state media which controls the narrative...

....go to Tripadviser, Google or similar, look up a hotel, restaurant, cafe, hairdressers, etc, somewhere, anywhere, in Russia...

....leave a 3 or 4 star review, with an opening comment like "nice food" or the like - and then add comments about stopping the war, stopping Putin, war crimes, etc...

....where photos can be added, please do so with something appropriate...

....help spread the word throughout Russia about what is REALLY being done there by their president...

I did it and it’s been stopped.

But I did email a Russian firm to say stop this war on innocents.

I'd rather boycott businesses with Russian ownership. Hit them in the wallet.

Much as I like vodka, there'll be no more Russian-made for me - plenty of good Polish alternatives and it's even made here in the Wyre Forest. Just small things can make a big difference...

Is it working? I mentioned this on a thread the other day.

through a company which i am invested in, i've supplied 20 solar powered fridge/freezers to MSF for the storage of vital medicines which are now on their way through slovakia, along with another truck load of basic supplies and equipment to facilitate the means to sterilize medical instruments etc. we do this for major natural disasters normally but have decided to act in this instance as a result of requests from MSF.

Boycott Holland and Barrett, they are owned by a Russian ogliarch, also alot of Ukrainian nationals here are organising their own transport of aid to be sent over to help their country.

Occasionally I try to... I don't know. Put good into the world. The last time I donated blood (I got banned, lol) it was with an international terrorist event going on in the background on the TV.

Can I help the people in that bombing now? No. But I can do something good in their honour. It adds up. I hope. We create knock on effects. Someone benefited from my blood donation.

Due to a recent event that has attracted media attention and has caused an influx of review submissions that do not describe a first-hand experience, we have temporarily suspended publishing new reviews for this listing. If you’ve had a firsthand experience at this property, please check back soon - we’re looking forward to receiving your review!

Looks like Tripadvisor thinks the war is simply a 'recent event'

We've donated items to local families with connections in Ukraine and they're sending over a lorry load of essential items for refugees. My workplace is fundraising and matching donations so I donated. I'm supporting our students who are affected directly.

I’m helping Ukraine by donating money to the Red Cross. At least that way I know it will reach those in need.

If you can afford it buy some provisions to donate to charities providing for the displaced Ukrainians.

Where I work a collection point is being put up for items such as dried baby milk, female products, clothes, shoes etc..tinned stuff is ideal too and bought from a supermarket own brand range relatively cheap.

To help I am going to accept all friend requests from anybody who is from the Ukraine.

And also hold a silent vigil and light a candle (for my oil burner because it smells nice).

I actually woke up thinking about this today, how can we each in our own capacity best help stop this or support people of Ukraine.

It’s much better to think this way than worry or pity, that leads to hopelessness, and ignoring it is the worst possible response.

Culture jamming on social media like the OP suggests is one option but you need some tactical briefings , I’ve not seen anyone providing this other than this post ?

Any other ideas ?

put a jumper on and turn the heating down 1°c ... sounds laughable but we buy gas indirectly from russia through 3rd party countries such as belgium, nederlands etc. collectively the reduction in gas used will reduce profits for gazprom etc.

This is what I did. Bought a load of sanitary pads, soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and flannels. Had a clear out of toys at work and children's clothes and a sort out of my clothes, bought socks and and a mix of male and female underwear and took it to the local drop off

Hate the scenes on the news, makes you feel so helpless
