World book Day memories

How am I supposed to remember that. It was way back 24 hours ago? I seem to remember something about taking a Hermiony Granger to school. Passed an impressive cat in a hat walking in. And the lollipop lady was dressed as a chicken. |

Not something we did when I was at school. I wished I’d known the first year took me by surprise with 24hrs notice but when they added also dress a potato as your costume too, was just taking the mick ! |

"There was no such day when we went to school.......but I was Alice in Wonderland yesterday
Sounds interesting
Obviously not a very good one....a colleague asked if I was a naughty nurse "
That’s more of a magazine character than a book though isn’t it |

"I think we just got Red Nose Day and it cost us a quid to wear our own clothes. Fucking capitalism
Don’t forget the plastic nose that never stayed on"
My headteacher was definitely pocketing the cash. There’s no way he drove that car on a primary school teachers salary. |

I'm sick of the number of themed dress up days at primary school nowadays. There's at least two per half term FFS. I don't recall ever doing anything more complicated than a non uniform day with a colour theme e.g. wear a red top. And it was for a 20p donation.
The next "non uniform" day at our daughter's school comes with instructions to bring in an Easter Egg. *Wonders if a single Creme Egg counts* |
