Mental health awareness
Jump to: Newest in thread
One of these threads haven't been started for a few weeks and although it might seem pointless doing one again ...I'll tell you know ...it's NOT !
March and April are both sensitive months for me and every year I'm fortunate to have my friends and family around me for support
However some folk are not so fortunate look out for your family ,friends, work colleagues see if there behaviour has changed, talk to them ,have a chat with that person you might not normally stop and talk to.
Equally if your feeling stressed, overwhelmed, isolated, speak to someone there are loads of charities if you have no family or friend support systems
And I've offered on the past even though I'm a stranger you can off load a problem to me, I might not be able to fix it but I can listen if nothing else
Look after each other people

Good man OP. I know how much information is out there for mens mental health but it still so often that it isn’t used. Sometimes talking to a stranger is a fantastic way to help. |

My mental health continues to improve. It's amazing the effects of getting out of a shitty situation can have. I've even volunteered to be a mental health first aider at my work place due to my extensive experience in dealing with mental health |

Good on you mate. It’s great for people when you can talk to them from a similar place. |

Well done OP
I quiet often post about things going on to me my fears and worries I’m very isolated probably cos I push away anyone and also cos I don’t feel I deserve anyone.
I’m so lost and don’t know what do I sit in my house at moment in fear of bills, fear that my parents getting old and seem to be having major things wrong (December my mum nearly died in hospital and now dad has issue with eyes loosing vision and headaches and back issue)
I know I post and most wouldn’t read or even care but I try reach out but I just don’t know what do I’ve sought help but as had counciling for ptsd following assault most things offer is same.
Sorry for always moaning |

I'll stop you right there your not moaning, your sharing your feelings on a public forum and you should continue to do so and my offer stood 6 weeks ago when I said it and still stands now to anyone who needs an ear |

I second the OP on this, you’ve taken the first steps by coming into a public forum and telling as it is.
Talking therapy is the best cure for anxiety, stress, depression etc.
Continue to chat on here or look online as mentioned above there are plenty of online help organisations |

Mental health is a huge area of interest for me, and having suffered from a variety of different MH illnesses I will always advocate for talking openly and honestly about any struggles anyone is having. Am happy to listen and share experiences if anyone needs to talk

Good man OP, this is a really nice thing to do.
Mental health needs to be something we can all talk about freely. It affects everyone to a greater or lesser extent.
Oh for the day when it isn't a stigma for some and everyone understands that it isn't a weakness. |

Absolutely I've personally known way to many people succumb to poor mental health unfortunately some have taken it to the extreme |

Nice Post
I find now I have three options
Keep hiding behind my fears
Change
Take to the extreme
Which effectively leaves one choice which is scary but hopefully doable |

I was going to send you a private message saying well done to you.
But your filters wouldn't let me. You've made a really kind offer to be a listening ear, but a vast proportion of site members won't be able to contact you.
It's a kind offer though. Nice!
