I’ve very excited to see The Batman this weekend. Anyone else planning on seeing it or something else?

I'm hoping to see it! Though I was a little unsure about Robert Pattinson, but it looks really good and I know alot of people will be thinking about the story archs but I have resigned myself to it being the DC multiverse...

I'm looking forward to watching it. I've watched the one trailer and nothing else. I haven't been keeping up with leaks or news because I want to go in and hopefully be pleased with the film.

I don't know. As a comic book fan (though I certainly favour marvel movies) I love Batman ever since his The Dark Knight reboot by Frank Miller.

But honestly I'm kind of burnt out on Batman over the years, the constant swapping of lead role, the lack of direction, the confusion about if he should be a realistic hero or go the full superhero route. DC/WB really struggle with their vision for their movies. Maybe this will be different, maybe it will just generally be a good movie.

But is it a good Batman movie? For me it's about how much it respects its source material than anything else.

I'm not ready to go into a full cinema. I shall wait for a quiet time.

Robert Pattinson will make a great batman. He's got a strong jawline, so important for batman, I think.

I think he has more depth than people give him credit for. I’ve seen him in a few random independent films and really enjoyed them. This one isn’t overloaded with special effects which is a positive!

Looking forward to this film it looks very dark and nice spin on the story.

I like it looks more like the Keaton era style so should be fun

He indeed has much better acting skills than the twilight movie allowed him to use.

I didn't mind Affleck, as he is a fan of the source material, and in terms of the character he did it better than most. The writing however... Did him wrong.

He is a comic fan and he knows the characters, he played Daredevil well too, but unfortunately again the writing and everything about that movie sort of let him down.

It is surprising what respect for the source material can do for the performance given from an actor who has the talent too. Sets them apart from just any other actor.

I'll wait.

Pattinson annoys the hell out of me, he could easily ruin it.

Will give him/it a chance but it will have to be amazing to impress me

I’ll go see it at some point, as I’m working all next weekend. Not really a fan of Pattinson, and think it will have to pull off something specisl to beat the Dark Knight trilogy

From the reviews I have seen, most are suggesting Pattison was a good fit and not to pigeon hole him into twilight.

Critic reviews and opinions these days mean very little. The amount of times they give solid scores to bad movies, or slate great movies across the board is quite telling it is more about their personal tastes and not unbiased.

As a huge batman fan ( joker card tattoo included) I was sceptical about the movie and the casting .. especially after the last disaster ..I think this is more leaning towards the Nolan real life approach and looking at the trailer looks a lot darker I'm excited

I think people are going to be very surprised at how good R Pat is at the role (yet another Brit showing how Batman should be played) and judging by critic reviews it sounds like an awesome watch..I'm going Saturday evening

It was good. Pattison was surprisingly good for the role. It was clear that he put so much of effort into it. The rest of the actors were also amazing. The visuals and music were great too. The story was just decent. But it should have been a bit shorter. Certain scenes in the middle were dragging.

It's a good watch but Nolan's version is definitely still the top for me.

I personally liked it. Again, when it comes to story and screenplay, it was all just good but not great. Maybe I was just overhyped that it's hard for me to accept anything as great.

So, here is my synopsis;

R Patt was good! But Christian Bale though, he had the edge for me???

Some amazing scenes but also some flat scenes.

Not sure about Zoe Kravitz's over acting compared to R Patts underwhelming (at times) acting.

The fight scenes were amazing. A good film but was waiting for the 'oomph' factor....

I liked the Riddler character, thought he was very creepy.

I dis really enjoy it though

That's the thing Batman Begins and The Dark Knight rises were above average. They were part of the new take of Batman being "realistic" and grounded, the darker side after the dark but oh too whimsical Tim Burton style, and the atrocious Forever, and Batman and Robin. So Nolan sort of had an edge to begin with.

THE Dark Knight however... That is a good movie regardless. Made even more so by Heath Ledger.

I watched it really enjoyed it and was great see the adaptation of year one novel.

It’s rough and raw but that’s the point as at this time he only been bat 2 yrs and rough and not the real proper one we seen in past films.

Keaton is and will always be the best but I did enjoy this one and set up nicely for another.

The sets where cool and loved seeing liverpool over film

Keaton is nostalgia fodder for most. He was a terrible Batman and Bruce Wayne. Amazing actor but so wrong for that part.

I saw it the other night... dunno what to think of it? I liked the overall feel of the movie, the style of it all was good and I had no problem with pattinson but it was lacking in something... excitement maybe? I liked that the riddler was in it and I like the actor who plays him as I've seen and liked him before in other movies but I feel the character of riddler could have had something more about him... any random character could have done what he did and would have had the same effect. Also penguin... again kinda cool that he was in it but he was lacking the villain factor, he might as well of been just a random mob boss, I feel we have not seen the last of penguin as his chance to raise up and take over was just being set up towards the end.

What would everyone like to see in the next batman?

Went to see The Batman last night, and in my opinion though I had my doubts about Robert Pattinson being Batman he made the role his. He has thankfully the teen idol role behind him. As origin stories go this one is worth seeing.
