Phone my parents and siblings.
Hold my daughters, kiss them, hug them, tell them I love them a million times over.
Tell my dog he is my number one boy.
Fuck me, this is morbid! |

Marcus Aurelius said “death smiles at us all, all we can do is smile back”
So with that in mind and the knowledge that we’d be wiped from existence. I’d go outside with a chair, relax, smile, and await the end. |

Seriously doubt we’d have time to think about it. But if we did, plus the lad was home, I’d try and distract, keep him unawares & laughing so that’s our last memory.
If just me I’d stand on the balcony, watch it go over and await the blast |

Sit on the sofa with my kids giving them a hug and making sure they were unaware of what’s about to happen.
If I had a chance I would probably FaceTime their dad too so could say how much he loves them one last time |

Depending upon time ,location qnd yield.
Either get as low as pos hug family .
Stand tall and accept it rather than die slow.
My kids are 7 hours drive away .
There is a survive to fight procedure, however ,would you really want to survive a strike and deal with the toxic aftermath,or starve to death or go thirsty .. knowing every one you know is gone.
Mil grade nbc kit starts falling apart after a month . I didn't relish going through the drills then and certainly don't know.
Some will survive initial strike but ptoberbly not much beyond d a few weeks imo |

Many of my 17/18yo students are concerned about this very thing. However, their parents are back home, some in the conflict zones. I was asked today if I could explain to students where the bomb shelters are in Manchester. I don't think my answer was what they were hoping for.
Doesn't answer the original question, but I can tell you that young people are incredibly anxious about what is happening now and what will happen next. Apparently, I'm qualified to counsel them |

At work I had a young person- 13/14- ask me about it all. It’s a tough question. But ultimately young people are still people, we can’t protect them from reality and we can’t expect them not to be anxious. We’re adults and we’re anxious. All we can do is create spaces for them to express themselves and their feelings and encourage healthy coping mechanisms imo. |

I'd phone my mum to thank her for the life she's given me and to tell her how much I love and appreciate her.
Being my mum she would undoubtedly not answer her phone though, so I'd probably spend my last few seconds cursing. "For fucks sake, why have a bloody phone if you're never going to an-" *boom* |

Hope like hell that Putin has a list of cities far more important to hit than Swansea. Failing that, he only uses a low yield warhead for the city. We are far enough out that he would need something pretty big (or off target) to kill us in the initial blast.
Sit there wondering what's going to happen after, thinking about how to survive, chucking stuff out the understairs cupboard and making sure as much of my body as possible covers her ladyship.

I'd probably end up just panicking loads then pulling a daft face in the actual moment....hey that actually sounds like how I react in a lot of my sexual encounters!! |

I think you should look at the map of UK targets.
With the exception of the outer Hebrides and possibly Orkney.
The rest of the UK is fucked.
We live less than a mile from Portsmouth naval base so we are pretty much dust.
These are very dangerous times. |

Is there still an "air raid warning" system in place?
Will it be sirens?
On the telly interrupting programme?
I live on the 7th floor and in the 8 or so minutes it takes for the missiles to come I won't have time to do much.
May grab a beer, sit on the balcony |

Used to serve on a nuclear submarine base and our direct command when we heard the alarm was to stick our heads between our legs and kiss our arse goodbye |

Probably just carry on as normal to be honest. My mad max style utility van needs some welding and I don’t think I’ll have finished it by then & I’ve only got one tin of beans to live on…I’m so not ready for the end of the world |

Why are we doing this to ourselves Nora?"
Blokes a nutter. All these people saying he won’t do it as his country will get wiped out too is bollocks! He doesn’t give a shit. He’s not rational he’s lost it. I never got scared about Covid. I’m scared stiff about this x |

Take all medication I could lay my hands on and go lay on my dogs grave waiting to bake.
I'm assuming and hoping all lines of communication would be down as I don't think I could speak to my son or my dad and say any goodbyes. |

The whole situation reminds of a conversation in the film Snatch .....
" You show me how to control a wild Gypsy , and I'll show how to control an unhinged pig feeding gangster. It's not like we got a choice now is it " ..
Kinda how I feel |

How long do some people think they would have if a nuke was on its way?
You’d have 10 mins tops. I’d just barricade myself as much as possible, maybe in an upside bath tub and hope that the explosion isn’t close enough to disintegrate me. |

I’m pretty good where I am.
I’ll just post threads and see how many of you make it.
If none then I’ll get offended at my own comments and report them.
Sorry none of you made it.
RIP. |

Depressingly, I was reading about the alerts last night. Apparently the sirens have been disbanded because everyone has double glazing and they weren't considered worthwhile anymore. It's tv/radio interruptions and phone alerts now.
And in answer to the OP I'd probably have a brief celebratory dance for all the bad decisions I figured I was going to be paying for in future |
