"I actually detest labels - be it in relation to size, sexual preference or what not - we are all just humans, we all have imperfections and attributes that makes us who we are - how about we stop sticking labels onto people and just appreciate everyone’s different! X" I see what you mean but to be fair you’re neither big nor very very slim. I like these threads because I like to see which men prefer more curvier/bigger women. We are all humans yes but people do have preferences and it’s good to see them. There may be people I wouldn’t have dreamt of messaging as I wouldn’t have thought they’d prefer curvier women. I often have a red through the BBW thread to see who’s commented. I also look through the slim threads and make notes on the ones who prefer slim/small boobs etc so I know not to contact them. Personally I like these kind of threads x

"I've been having a think about this and thought I'd simplify how it works to save any confusion. I reckon the groupings are as follows: 1. Too skinny. 2. Teeeeeny, tiny wee sweet spot where you get it all right. Should have big boobs, round bum, washboard stomach, long legs but thighs must be thicc, calves toned and ankles dainty. No bones nor any hint of a lump or bump can be detectable. Must also have pretty face. NB. Should any of the above be achieved through cosmetic enhancement, you're disqualified as you must now be predominantly referred to as fake, plastic or a bimbo. 3. Should you fail to fall into either of the above categories your new prefix for everything is 'big' - big beautiful woman/big fat cow. Don't worry though, by the time you're about 40 it's all about your age anyway, so you can look forward to Milf/Gilf/Cougar/haggard or just being invisible. Pick your label ladies ![]() ![]()

"I actually detest labels - be it in relation to size, sexual preference or what not - we are all just humans, we all have imperfections and attributes that makes us who we are - how about we stop sticking labels onto people and just appreciate everyone’s different! X" I understand this and Nora's reply. It is instinctive to categorise people, whether that's scruffy/smart or old/young, friendly/grumpy we all do it all the time. I am with you on the labels though. I'm not a fan of telling people how my mind has labelled them unless they ask though - and make a conscious effort to see past any labels I have. When it comes to attraction, we all have certain body types or looks that work for us - every other profile includes a description of the ideal candidates shape/size. Nora has flagged up one of the biggest problems with labels in that they are totally subjective. I suspect if she's reading through BBW threads to find men who may like what she perceives as her body type she could be missing a lot of guys for whom BBW means something totally different to what she thinks of it as. "It's interesting the amount of discussion around labeling and what is/isn't acceptable, what words people find demeaning etc. I just hope all the posters put these same responses on the next thread about the ideal height or cock size for a man - especially given these are both things that no one has any control over unlike body shape where we all have a degree of control. There should be a new height/cock size thread in the next 15 mins or so it's been a while ... Mr" I’m guilty of the height thing but it’s MY issue not theirs. I’ve never been happy with my height. " Also the thread title - skinny is offensive its the equivalent of saying fat versus slim. So the thread title really should be BBW versus Slim. Just to add woman can be be a size 8 and have fantastic curves so women can be curvy whether the fall on the size spectrum. KJ" Lots of women hate the BBW label. Can't win, really ![]()

Then again, I don't think you *should* protest about words like skinny, BBW or fat. I'm merely pointing out that there is a big difference between the type of answers on a thread that asks men what their preferred body shape/size/colour/scent/hairyness is than one that asks women the same. ![]()

"To me bbw snd skinny are 2 extremes. Personally I prefer slimmer women, when it comes to curvy women I have to see pics (face and body) because curvy women in the UK means something totally different to curvy women, back home in the Caribbean where I'm from, for example, Scarlett Johanson, Jennifer Lopez would be considered curvy, a woman with a big tummy or her tummy over her breasts is fat. I don’t believe in fat shaming, but everyone has a right to their preference as well as their lifestyle. For me I'm more turned on by small, slim, petite women, yes I love a big butt and nicely shaped boobs, but a petite figure does it for me. The interesting thing is that guys can't change their height or their dick size (the average guy, not a rich one who can afford surgery on their dick) but women can change their weight. Also the body positivity movement is seriously gender skewed, because you don't hear about plus size male models do you? Just something to think about. If I'm not into someone I'm happy with just saying no, I don't need to justify my decision. And neither do women when it comes to not finding me attractive.

"I don't mind size of person it's more the confidence in their figure ![]() Same here. A confident lady who is comfortable in her own skin, is dead sexy. I find the highest proportion of women who fit that description among the portion of the population that could be described as “athletic” rather than simply being slim. Ie can be a very light build or a large powerful build, but i find that athletic women are usually more confident about their bodies . Same for me, when I am at my fittest and strongest, I know that I feel more comfortable, feel more confident, carry myself differently.

A woman with her tummy over her breasts is upside down, not fat. " I think this is the best answer in the thread. ![]() ![]()

For the belly to be big enough to reach over the tits, the tits would probably be huge too so the belly wouldn’t be able to reach over them. Do you have any examples of this phenomenon that you can share with us? Or was the other poster correct, ther this can only be achieved if the woman is upside down?

"I find the terminology interesting. Large women are referred to as BBW’s, so all of them are beautiful. But at the other end of the scale (per OP), we have “skinny” women. Not skinny beautiful women? The perception I get is that all women are beautiful as long as they are big. Slim /skinny ladies don’t seem to have the same plaudits poured their way. Why is that? I know it’s only a pop song, but Megan traynor’s song, all about that base celebrates larger women, but rather than celebrating all women, it vilifies slim ladies as “skinny bitches”. To me, this is a massive double standard ... automatically beautiful if you’re big, but fair game to be vilified as a bitch if you’re small. " To be fair, I always wondered why BBW stood for big beautiful woman. Thought for ages the second B was referred to the colour of her skin. Like BBW or BWW But why is one just skinny or slim and the other is big beautiful. Almost feels like an extra affirmation to me, that seems to be unnecessary

"I thought the background to BBW was because slim women for many years have been the standard and receive a lot of appreciation. The BBW label was just a way of ensuring that the more voluptuous ladies were recognised too. After all the majority of women we see in magazines and ads are slim - it's the default beauty standard." I think that assumes that slim women recognise themselves in those magazine ads. What people often object to isn't big women being called beautiful. It's the unfavourable comparisons other women receive. By all means give affirmation but not by tearing someone else down. If there's a universal balancing scheme you just cancel the positive.

Exactly, this thread showed it completely, by having a tag that all large women are beautiful. And well, skinny… those are just skinny women and should be fine with that because tv and media has picked a certain type of woman (a type of woman who’d be beautiful regardless of shape because actresses and models are just objectively beautiful to look at - they just have good genetic make up) Also. I mean not to kick up a fight, but larger men certainly don’t get any positive affirmations. They probably get the worst of it all , just saying

Skinny is a word that doesn't need to be seen as negative. I think you've misconstrued what I said. BBW was just a movement to give bigger women some appreciation at a time when they weren't getting it. It's now used as a label. And actresses and models ARE partly lauded because of their shape because they fit society's ideal. I feel like this has all been said before and does it really matter anyway? Some men like some women regardless of their shape or because of it and vice versa. You're right about bigger guys though.

" To be fair, just because someone has a specific shape doesn’t particularly get the beauty card handed over. But that’s just my opinion ![]() I agree completely with the sentiment, and object to the term BBW being applied willy nilly. However, I also object to "big", "curvy" and "fat" being used to all mean the same thing, as they don't. Big is a size. Curvy is a shape. And fat is technically a thing, although as it is and has been used as an adjective for quite some time, that's probably a different discussion. I'm big, because I'm tall and large all over. I'm fat, I'm also curvy and I'm sure as shit not beautiful. I'm also not "meat on the bone". I don't object to these threads, because everyone has preferences, including me. But dear god. If you're going to fling labels around at least make them a bit more accurate ffs. And "fat", "skinny"... if we all stopped taking offense at these simple words, those using them to cause offence wouldn't have any power.

I’m no way skinny now, (thank fuck) but I did have a time where I also had my problems with food, and I was very skin and bones and didn’t recognise it Obviously I wasn’t seeing it, as I was too concerned on why I’d still have some belly fat when sitting down.. but yeah, it is a weak spot now that I recognise the signs.

And in celebrating order ladies as automatically being beautiful, this often stays into demonising petite ladies ... eg the “skinny bitches” like I referred to. It's just a phrase which doesn't actually mean that all big women are beautiful, the same way that the term BBC is used when in reality not all black men have big penis, nor does penis size have any colleration to race.

To be fair, just because someone has a specific shape doesn’t particularly get the beauty card handed over. But that’s just my opinion ![]() Hip hop demonises larger women? I don’t think so . If anything, the opposite. Although they refer to all women of all shapes in disgraceful terms. I’m referring to middle of the road music. If Ed sheeran’s next song was about nice slim girls with firm arses, and contains descriptions of feb alternatives in derogatory terms (eg fat bitches), then Loose Women would be on fire taking him down

To be fair, I always wondered why BBW stood for big beautiful woman. Thought for ages the second B was referred to the colour of her skin. But that’s just my opinion ![]() It actually isn't clear because you are giving a one sided argument. Using perfect 10 for example a song from 1998 over 20 years ago isn't much of an argument. In the context of the 90's where hero in chic was all the rage with Kate Moss look being popular and what you should aspire to be. The song perfect 10 was a reaction to that pressure to look like that. You focused on one phrase of a song, instead of "cause we love our love, in different sizes". I very much doubt those lyrics would be written today.

You definitely had slim or skinny women look in the mirror and think “maybe if I’ll lose some more and avoid eating at night, I’ll be beautiful and look just like Kate Moss (or insert another slim lady)” Well, clearly that’s not the case even (even if they tried) for majority of women out there, whether slim or skinny or curvy or larger sized, regardless of size. Obviously nowadays the beauty standard has changed and it’s Kim Kardashian and curvy women with tiny waists and huge backs to be the ones leading the game in the media Just saying ![]()

What I meant was that being called anorexic back then was sometimes used as compliment. I once upon a time massively thin in the 90's, with an eating disorder to match. And I still thought I was fat. I guess I've been on both sides, I've been incredibly thin, I've been much much bigger than I am now. So I've had it at all angles at some point in my life. But personally I found when I was a lot larger, people treated me the worst. Being called fat bitch etc when just walking down a road hurts. The presumption I was lazy and thick and that somehow my weight affected my ability to do my work. These are my personal thoughts and experiences. But for me my life is easier when I am slimmer.

I’m still waiting for examples of songs that do the opposite, lauding slim girls and slagging off big girls, despite being assure that there are hundreds. Best anyone had managed is to mention hip-hop, on the basis that it debases all women, but web then the centre typically lauds big girls.
