Things not as good as you thought .. or remembered ..

1970s Doctor Who is one .. I kind of remembered them as amazing at the time as a kiddie. Watching some back on a free trial of Britbox.. well.. maybe not as good as I recall, let’s put it that way!

And Gin. Everybody raves about Gin. So I tried some. Meh.

What else has turned out either not as good as you remember when you revisit them, or indeed not as good as you expected when you finally tried it ..

Over to you Fabsters!

Has to be some certain songs. I remember dancing in the paradox to “jazz it up” by reel 2 reel. Telling everyone “I LOVE this songggggg” whilst throwing my shapes.

Heard it on Spotify this morning…….

The only comedy I can still watch & find funny is Dad's Army, it never dates because it was already dated when it was made & that was the intention by the writers.

Chocolate, not half as tasty as it was during my childhood.

Particularly Cadbury's, I'd never waste money on a tin of Roses again

Rollercoasters. They were great when I was little, now they make me feel off balance and a bit queasy.

There's also lots of films that I loved as a child that I've shown to my own children, and they were a bit rubbish and boring - Annie for one. Not a lot happens for most of it, just lots of bad dancing and never ending singing

I watched The Lost Boys t’other week. Again not as good as I remember as a teenager, when it was the *best* film ever!

Being able to go out as a kid all day and return when it got dark and walking the streets without fear of being nonced or stabbed. And leaving my front door unlocked, knowing the neighbours, the doctor knowing you, running from the cops for scrumping, getting caned at school for fighting, oh and my first sight of a wank mag, the pic was of a guy who had an STI his cum was yellow? For months I thought I must be ill because mine was white. Lol

Hmm mine would all probably be movies

Probably Indiana Jones god that second one was pretty racist and downright dodgy on rewatch at least for me.

Would say most recent recommended movies for me especially “deep and thought provoking ones” just find them pretentious.

Reading

Summers when I was at school . No rain etc and able to go out. Leave home after breakfast and then back home for evening meal. Remember many years ago while out saying to my mother . There were no houses etc around here when I used to cycle around this area . Realised dropped myself in the s**t as she then realised where my friends and I had been going in school holidays.

I agree with this 100%. Now summer just means sweating your tits off at work and being too tired to enjoy the couple of hours sunlight you get when you’ve clocked off. It always seems to rain on a weekend as well

Pot noodles. I think they’ve taken lots of the salt and other good (bad) stuff out of them. What a shame.
