I’m turning back to my car.
Fuel is cheaper than the food I use to fuel for the 20 mile cycle to work.
I get more mpg out of diesel than I do out of protein and carbs. |

"Won’t be long before folk are reminiscing about the days of the £1.50/ltr cost.
Gawd, pass me a large whiskey, I think I need it! "
I’m with ya, let’s bunker in and crack the bottle open. |

"Nope. I do remember it being a big deal when it went over £1 a litre though. "
Yep, people blockaded fuel depots in protest. The country was brought to chaos. Oh how folk would prefer that now. |

"I saw it for £1.53.9 yesterday "
I can top that.
BP station nearest to me £1.59.9 diesel
Blatant profiteering even in the knowledge of a Tesco station still at £1.46.9
Funnily enough, the forecourt of the BP, empty. Tesco….queuing off the main road. |

"Meanwhile, petroleum companies are making an absolute mint!
BP and Shell made about £40bn profit I read "
And when you think that the cost of the actual fuel is 30% or less or the pump price, look how much the government must be making out of us |

Thing is, cost of a barrel of crude oil was more expensive 8 years than it is today yet petrol didn't cost anywhere near what it does now. We are quite simply being ripped off and are going to be ripped off even more. |

"I can remember it being 50p(10 shillings)"
Shouldn't that be 10 shillings (50p) ?
I remember it going up to 6/4d a gallon..... and we went ballistic.
That's 32p for 4 and half litres.....
The price is advertised in litres cos if it was still sold by the gallon you'd SHIT every time you saw the price.
It's going down in price soon to 99 p
It will be sold by the tablespoon tho .... |

You are incorrect.
There has been a reduction in the list of legitimate users.
Still buying it and will be for the foreseeable future. |

It's absolutely horrendous. £110 to fill up my husbands vehicle and £65 for mine.
Not sure how we can keep going at £175 just on fuel a week. It's a concern. |

Was 89p per ltr when I started driving! Cost me £70 for a weeks fuel where it would cost between £40-50 a week a few months back. Considering going electric. |
